'The Early years'
Melixia Corvenus Khalidah… Or Melixia to those closest to her, has been viewed in many lights, described in many ways, hated by many, loved by few and respected by all. Losing her parents at the early age of 9 to the horrors and desolation amid the ongoing battle in the rogue isles, Melixia fled to the streets of paragon. With no family to aid her and no shelter to house her she appeared destined to spiral into darkness. Surrounded by the wicked, burdened by a life of fear and loneliness, and plummeting into a life of escalating crime, Melixia it seemed was doomed. A young girl, bereaved of her innocence, illusions of a child shattered before her years in a world that was to show her no mercy, no respite from the difficulties of poverty and struggle. It was no surprise then, that as she grew older, her resentment for those around her grew darker.
Desperation and mourning turned into anger, her resolve became absolute, and never again would she fall victim to circumstance, be it of human descent or otherwise. In the back streets and shadowed alleys of the Islands cities, she trained, a wooden stick, a knife, or no weapon at all, she would train until the skin on her hands could bear no more, and the strength in her legs would carry her no further. She grew stronger, fuelled by an indomitable will never to be questioned, catapulted forward by a burning desire for strength and power, so that she might one day exact merciless revenge on all that have grieved her. She fought hard, hit harder, each earth shattering blow only strengthening an unbreakable spirit, igniting further the blazing fire that lit her eyes.
Years passed, Melixia, an expert combatant and mid level criminal at the young age of 18 was becoming of note amongst her peers, a rising star in the abyss of a murky underbelly. Confidence became arrogance; few had been through the trials she had faced, what threat could the criminal minions of Paragon pose to her? None she believed… Untouchable, untameable, she bowed to no one, fought for no cause!.. But a glowing star attracts undesirable attention, and with no allies to call on, she was to battle all who sought to cripple her alone. Battle after battle, notch after notch scratched upon the hilt of a blood stained sword, a mercenary with few friends, and fewer morals. Fated to live and die at the mercy of the streets, acceptance of her existence had long since passed.
Hail and snowstorm dash the streets, looming over Melixia the curling fingers of fate closed in, unbeknownst to her. She plods forward, another day, another battle, another notch on the hilt, she grew tired. April 15th, 10 years to the day of her parents tragic murder, Melixia had long since forgotten the kindness and love her parents had shown her, the fondness of memory blackened by the pain endured since their absence. Stumbling from a bar, thrown from its doors after rectifying a mistake made by an over zealous male she shook the blood from her brazen knuckles, before contemplating another round with the bouncers. Sense gets the better of her, she’s too strong for them she tells herself, and she turns away… Pain overcomes her, her jaw shatters as she hurtles to the ground. She pushes herself to her knees, a hand on the hilt of her sword. Her body pulses with rage as the snow beneath her dyes red with blood. She begins to stand… Crunch, she is sent screaming through the air as the boot of her attacker obliterates her rib cage. A tear rolls down her cheek as she screeches across the ground, her arrogance extinguished now. Climbing to shaky feet, gasping, clutching her ribs, she draws her sword with a free hand, her blurred vision fading in and out of darkness as consciousness threatens to leave her. Coughing, spluttering she glimpses a shadow approaching her through the blizzard, she lifts her sword with her remaining might ready to strike down on the attacker… Its too late, again she is struck, bought crippling to her knees at the mercy of her assassin. Closing her eyes, she drops her sword, embracing death; she awaits the killing blow… It never comes; instead warmth flows across her face! Falling to her side she opens her eyes, at her guard stand two figures, both female, twins perhaps. One dressed in white, her eyes burning hot as her long flowing white hair dances in the breeze, the warmth of her aura melting the snow around her, somehow… Calming, healing. The other dressed in black, her jet black hair tight to her head, darkness swirling around her. A sword of titanic proportions rests upon her back, while the air around her crackles and pops as if boiled by her presence. Side by side they stand the attacker nowhere to be seen, power emanating from their presence.
Melixia winces, as her saviours turn to face her, suspended in disbelief she looks on as the two females resemble her self exactly, “could this be real?” They each reach out a hand, to which Melixia reluctantly accepts, her eyes trained on their faces. The White twin smiles, the other remains void of xpression, and as they pull Melixia to her feet, they each vanish. Healed, invigorated even, Melixia glances down at the now gleaming sword she holds in her hand, a mask in the other. Redressed in gold and black she looks to the sky as she feels the warmth and power of the two incarnations surge through her.
We are three!
She who grants life is all you hold dear,
Your love, your kindness, your memory.
She who takes life is your retribution, resolution,
Your anger, your strength.
You are the Vessel, the soul, the power through which
We three are connected…
Together we are Incarnate… Infinite… Reborn…
We are one!
