In Russia

Anastasiya Kalinnikova (Анастасiыа Калiннiкова) was born in the year 1944 in the Soviet Union to loving, patriotic, parents who loved their country as much as they loved their beautiful baby. Still within her first year of life, Asya was admitted, as The Patient, into a highly secret laboratory- her parents were promised her safe return. Here cryogenics were the studied to hold prime specimens for future superhuman research, and the girl was the first successfully hibernated without permanent damage. In the late 50s when she was revived, the next laboratory experimented on her in various ways. After multiple years they successfully improved her body’s wound recovery and bloodstream efficiency. She was again put on ice and later revived in 1960 for special military training which was designed to push her heightened abilities to the limit. The grounds were deep within the arctic circle and she was always outside without heavy clothes. Temperatures easily reached negative fifty degrees Fahrenheit in the winter, but her body's cells did not die from it, and the replacement that flowed through her veins did not freeze.

When she was turned 16 new experiments were performed to improve her durability. Bones were replaced with ceramics and high-strength alloys, sub-dermal treatments toughened her skin into Kevlar, and her eyes and inner ears were replaced with much more durable replacements which were much more resistant to overload. Intense Spetsnaz training continued for 3 more years, and she was 'put on ice' again in 1976 as an on-reserve super soldier. When the Soviet Union fell and much of the experiments have disappeared, either only from files, or literally, in Anastasiya’s case. In the summer of 2004 the emergency release of her capsule engaged for unknown reasons, and let the tough, but cryosleep-atrophied and amnesiac Asya free.

In Finland

Following her instincts, she reached the western border into Finland, where she lived in Mikkeli as Miira Koivu. She was helped on her feet by a Kari Kivi, a multi-talented performer. Together they formed the Tuska Perhe Sirkus, a gothic stage performance group. As far as minor artists go, they were successful and managed a small tour on the east coast of the United States. On the road to Philadelphia from Boston they had an extreme auto accident, killing all but the extraordinarily tough Miira. Scientists were baffled by blood tests and referred her to Paragon City, where her life began anew, as another gothpunk hero, Mira Tuska.

Personality and Miscellanea

Due to her loss of memory, and the military training, she is stonefaced and terse. Without a past, she does not have any deep goals but to try to fix her mind; which is shrouded by vague dreams and chilling nightmares.

Mind readers cannot read her memories, instead they get a mental block similar to a rigid callus. A fundamental block to the place where memories are stored, it cannot be breached until her mind is fixed biologically. Her recent history, and current emotions and thoughts can be read, She is not telepathic in any way, but knows when someone is in her head.
