Personality
Matthew Tesla is, at heart, an individual out for himself. He's not immune to the concerns of others, but his upbringing mixed with his current situation simply led him to have a strong sense of self-importance. He's also remarkably intelligent and keen, a fact that he's none too shy about proclaiming. Also, he doesn't like being forced to submit to the authority of others, especially if he disagrees with their decisions. However, he isn't averse to taking orders if he recognizes that something is beyond his scope or understanding.
Biography
Early Life
Matthew Tesla was born and raised in the Rogue Isles, fortunate enough to have lived in a rich enough family as to be above the filth that perpetuates most of the islands' society. An only child, his parents were wealthy corporates, owning the company of Tesla Electric in St. Martial, which provided power to a small portion of the Rogue Isles before Aeon Corp invented the PTS in Cap au Diable. This move nearly put TE out of business, and forced them to shift their interests from electricity to simpler things such as plastics, things that Aeon used to supply but had moved on from.
This all happened while he was still a teenager, leading him to develop not so much a hatred as a distrust of his parents and their decision. This grew into a strong desire to take control of the company from his parents and lead it back to glory. Given that he was still far too young and inexperienced to take control of a company, as he entered into his adult life he was forced to turn to another method to promote his interests.
Discovery
While supervising a demonstration at one of the company's mining facilities on an island off the coast of Norway, the entire outpost was almost leveled and destroyed by the discovery of an unknown metal. An explosion stemmed from one of the central drills and shook through the rest of the facility, resulting in a chain reaction that collapsed the facility piece by piece until there was nothing left.
As he made his way through the collapsing facility, however, he managed to make it down to where the explosion began, he found the chunk of metal that the drill had contacted. On a whim, he decided to take it, and called in a rescue team soon after. However, it turned out that nobody else from the facility survived the collapse, leaving him, after a quickly crafted cover story, as the only person who knew about the metal's existence.
Donning The Armor
He still had his own fair share of money and assets from the company, and so he set out to construct his own suit of power armor, powered by the unique metal from Norway, which he had since discovered possessed a perpetual electrical field. He named the metal 'boros' and mounted a small amount of it in a transformer in the chest of his armor suit, keeping the rest of the sample preserved in a secure location.
The suit can channel electricity for combat purposes, and also possesses a centrifugal shield housed in the wrist-mounted 'morpher' that allows him near-instant deployment/retraction of the armor. The shield-morpher can shrink down to the size of an average wristwatch while in human form, allowing him to keep it on him at all times.
At first, he used the suit merely to attack other companies, including Aeon Corp, to further his own interests regarding Tesla Electric. While that still remains his primary goal, recently he has also begun to fight other criminal groups as well.
Titan Industries
Now, he has been hired as an operative of Titan Industries, who took an interest in his work as Thunder-Volt, and then managed to discover his real identity of Matthew Tesla before actually meeting him. He met with Tommy Cortex and agreed to join their organization.
Hall Of Armor
Normal Suit
The first power suit Matt built, heavily revised and upgraded from the original prototype design. Balances the power flow from the boros generator and allocates it evenly to combat and support systems. His general purpose battle suit.
Stealth Suit
Built shortly after his induction into Titan Industries. He began to realize at this point that blasting your way into the enemy position isn't always the most fruitful course of action. This suit diverts much of the power away from combat systems and instead uses it to manufacture a multilevel stealth system, which masks all electrical and heat output, as well as bending light, giving the impression of invisibility. Used for infiltration or hit-and-run missions.
