Powers and Abilities
Broadsword
The first of the two melee weapons the valkyries are trained with is the broadsword. Yuri and Mitsu are skilled with various shapes, sizes, and styles of swords, from large double-edged broadswords to energy weapons. Compared to axes, their use of swords is more precise and practiced, focusing more on speed and striking critical wounds than applying pure force. The attacks are also more likely to wound when striking, making successive attacks more likely to land. A lighter weapon, the sword is more accurate and easy to handle, requiring less of their strength to use.
- Parry
The biggest advantage to using swords for the valkyries is the ability to parry incoming attacks. When used in conjunction with their shields, the angels are capable of avoiding a large number of incoming attacks. Melee weapons and attacks are the easiest to parry with the sword, though the angels can sometimes dodge other forms of attacks using their weapons.
- Hack
A standard attack done with the broadsword executed when an opening is presented in combat is often considered by the two to be a simple "hacking" attack. This attack type is often used for speed and not for its sheer power. Generally, the sword is handled swiftly and with precision, moving quickly to strike when an opportunity presents itself.
- Slice
Quite often, the valkyries are outnumbered in combat and forced to fight numerous foes at once. Though the sword is better suited for single combat, a simple wide slice is used to strike more foes at a time. With one maneuver, the broadsword can be brought in a horizontal arc. Since this is generally done to force enemies away or create breathing room, the actual force behind this attack is relatively low.
- Disembowel
When intending to inflict more critical wounds or fight more dangerous enemies, one of two strategies is used. The first of which is a "disemboweling" motion which is used to take more powerful foes off balance. The sword is swung forward and upward in an uppercutting motion, generally grazing or slicing across the front of the target. When used against normal foes, this is used to break through armor or inflict serious damage. Used on other targets such as robots or elementals, the throw off balance can be increased into a pure slamming motion which can send some enemies into the air from the power.
- Head Splitter
A rarer but more powerful attack often reserved as a finishing move or an opening attack when taking an enemy by surprise. Once an enemy's focus or defenses have been reduced significantly, a "head splitter" attack can be used to finish them off. Though not necessarily done as an attack to the head, this move is done to inflict severe damage to a critical location in order to cause a lot of damage. Enough force is usually put into this finishing move that foes can be taken off their feet from the impact of the blade.
- Build Up
Though not technically an attack, the valkyries are skilled enough with the use of their weapons that they can read their opponents openings and strike accordingly. When an opening is presented, the angels can strike with more force and accuracy with a series of attacks once these weaknesses have been analyzed.

Trivia
- Yuri and Mitsu were created before the Valkyrie Mac Pack was announced. Though some of their costumes use Valkyrie pieces, their overall appearance was not influenced by the package.
