Fights with dual katanas, tantos or Red Cap style daggers.
Family heirloom which allows her to summon her weapons and armour at will, protects her from deception and attack and permits her greater focus.
Aether is the first tank I've managed to take beyond the travel power stage. Really because Dual blades and willpower are so fun. I am still trying to find my feet with her and if ever you find her flitting about, more than likely the tough and rather unusual Golden-Rook is somewhere nearby. They make a fantastic team together.
Aether is a member of The Reciprocators with the rank of Defiant Fist. She usually works with members of The Shield of Paragon coalition, particularly those of The Dawn Patrol, The Silver Guard and her own The Reciprocators especially Golden-Rook.
Aether Down, or Dawn as she prefers being called by friends is very outgoing and cheerful. Despite all the oddities and darkness in Paragon she remains hopeful and works with the Reciprocators to clean up the city and defend those who cannot defend themselves.
Aether isnt a Paragon girl and as such is often taken aback by some of the more unusual local gangs like Clockwork or Vahzilok. She does try to study up but doesnt always get all the details. You try explaining why wind up toys are evil. Shes also trying to figure out why all her library books float.
Dawn has trained for many years in both how to wield various blades and how to employ them in a non lethal fashion. When wearing her armor she favours her Katanas but usually has others hidden somewhere. This is best seen when she removes the armor and makes her wings smaller. Hard to hide great big katanas, so she has a pair of Tantos concealed.
One of the two great heirlooms of the Valens family is a simple silver circlet. This, and the other heirloom, came from a being laying claim to be an Angel. Wearing the circlet lets Dawn focus her will to such a degree that she can both dodge and resist attacks, even psionic ones as well as heal quickly and menace her foes.
Dawn recieved her wings from the second heirloom of her family. Namely a downy feather from the wings of an Angel. She is still getting used to them and is now showing a tendancy to be airborne in battle more often than not. A particularly useful trick for her is the ability to influence the size and appearance of her wings. They are often made into smaller, almost cherubic, wings when attending functions in uniform or when off duty.
Dawn trains daily, both in her motion and with her blades. The result of this training and of wearing the circlet leaves her with a high pain tolerance and increased health and stamina, letting her heal and recuperate at an immense rate.
Dawn has recently discovered an offshoot of one of her abilities. As well as hearing whispers and voices with no defined source as part of her Heightened Senses, she has discovered an ability to whisper in peoples ears without being heard nor being nearby. This does however require eyecontact.
- Aether can summon and dismiss her armor at will but hasnt a clue how it works.
- It is assumed that the heirlooms are indeed from one of the angelic host, but there is no concrete evidence.
- It is unknown what relationship she has, if any, to the villain Gregor Valens
- Dawn is training in dance as well as with her blades, bringing grace and style to some of her moves, especially when airborne.
- Wings are heavy, hence the kneeling every so often.
