Army Metahuman Special Forces Training Program

The Army Metahuman Special Forces Training Program (AMSFTP, as commonly abbreviated) is a secretive Military program enacted in the late 1970s during President Richard Nixon's term, and began as a program to "better train this generation's fighting forces." The AMSFTP is infamous for taking young children, some in their infancy, and taking them through some of the most gruesome training that the United States Military has ever forced on any human being. The product of this training are elite, combat-experienced, and expert mercenaries, soldiers, and special forces agents covertly deployed during each of America's armed conflicts. The most recent graduating "class" was during the Rikti Wars.

History of the AMSFTP

The Army Metahuman Special Forces Training Program was passed secretly as a bill in Congress during Richard Nixon's presidential term. Upon this signing, military recruiters around the states had been given orders to seek out and force metahuman infants out of their homes to take them to the only AMSFTP training center. Each applicant and subject were no older than six, but due to drugs and steroids given to them during their long years of training, matured at the age of nine. From here, they are taught the basics and advanced techniques of combat, until their final graduation at the age of fifteen.

Graduating Classes; ANGAEL Groups

ANGAEL Group Alpha was known to be the first graduating class of the AMSFTP, in 1992, and were all activated as a single group to serve across the globe, countering terrorism in many countries. However, each member of the unit were systematically killed by terrorist super villains, which had caused the AMSFTP to up its own ante; the second graduating class was activated a year later, with fresh and new training implanted. The ANGAEL (American National Geo-Human Activated ELite) organization garnered international attention after it captured a renown Super Villain named Dr. Mechaniok and placed him in Paragon City's Zigguraut, through the actions made by members of ANGAEL Group Bravo. All members of ANGAEL Group Bravo were each killed during the Rikti invasion of 2002, but between then and their graduation, dozens more of the AMSFTP had risen the original number of 24 graduates to almost-2,000 Meta-Human Supersoldiers.

ANGAEL Group Alpha

ANGAEL Group Alpha was the first of many graduating classes, composed of twenty-four members. Their first orders were to systematically neutralize major terrorist threats, but were ultimately decimated when going after a super-villain named Dr. Mechaniok - a former Crey Industries scientist gone Rogue, along with many Crey technologies.

ANGAEL Group Bravo

ANGAEL Group Bravo was activated following its graduation in 1993, and their orders were to hunt down the villain Dr. Mechaniok and bring him to justice. Composed of over fifty members, Group Bravo neutralized the robotic armies Mechaniok had built and captured the mad scientist and inventor. Dr. Mechaniok had served time in the Zigguraut of Paragon City, but had recently broken out in a recent riot. Since then, Group Bravo was deactivated only to be reactivated - and ultimately, destroyed - during the Rikti Wars.

ANGAEL Groups Charlie - Foxtrot

Classes following Group Bravo had the same orders as Group Alpha, being to systematically hunt down and neutralize terrorist threats. These groups worked alongside Superheroes to achieve their goals. All of these groups were activated during the Rikti Wars, only to be decimated completely.

ANGAEL Group Ghost & Hotel

The only two "deactivated" Groups that have not been decimated during the Rikti Wars, though currently incognito. ANGAEL Group Ghost is led by Lieutenant Colonel Kurama Bingyi, a Japanese-born American Citizen that was brought into the program when he was five. Currently, Group Ghost operates secretively in Paragon City. However, Group Hotel was indeed activated, but was given command to an inept and dysfunctional Captain named Rick Harrington, who has taken Group Hotel and turned it into a villainous group operating out of the Rogue Isles.

Training Classes

After the first fifteen years of training during the AMSFTP, the first graduating "class" was in 1991, and another class followed a year after.

The Rikti Wars; Impact

Before its deactivation in 2003 as a result of the Rikti Wars, ANGAEL Group Ghost was one of two remaining graduating classes. With the Rikti threat still viable, ANGAEL Group Ghost was sent to Paragon City to decipher its situation and help when necessary. ANGAEL Group Hotel, however, had an entirely different mission that strayed from its original protocol. Kurama Bingyi, the team captain of ANGAEL Group Ghost, was given the order to recall his team members when he could find the situation of the Rikti Threat. However, the team leader of ANGAEL Group Hotel at the time - Rick Utley - had gone incognito and left for the Rogue Isle, never to be heard from again. Though the rest of the team was disheartened, they broke away to work independently.

Equipment

The AMSFTP employed state-of-the-art technologies for each decade it was active, the greatest achievement being the final graduating class prior to the program's deactivation. Each graduate's equipment consisted of a jet-black Stealth suit with modifications to prove lightweight, but effective - adaptable to any form of weather, and any situation its wearer was in. This proved extremely valuable and useful for nighttime covert operations conducted by specialized teams within the ANGAEL organizational groups.

Weapons were a matter of personal preference to each graduate. Many were adept with melee weapons such as blades, while others specialized in long-range rifles.

Deployment

Akin to the Army Airborne divisions, ANGAEL groups used state-of-the-art Jump Packs to launch themselves at over three-thousand feet from a specialized dropship - like a military Ausprey, only at higher-altitudes. From there, they would fall for a good distance before deploying "air-brakes" to slow their descent. Their landing spots would normally be in hidden areas and out of enemy radar range, unless they deployed directly into a combat zone. Drops can include a single person, a team, or an entire group.

Deactivation

Following the Rikti Wars, a vast majority of AMSFTP graduates were slain during combat, while many trainees were killed during a raid on the AMSFTP training compound. Following this, the American Congress saw fit to deactivate the entire program until further notice - several pockets of surviving graduates remained active and incognito.
