Into Enemy Territory

The daring rescue by Brendan behind her, Ava began the long process of rebuilding her memory and reconnecting with her life. Frustrated at her inability to remember, and surrounded by unfamiliar people who knew her and places she didn't completely recognize, her temper slowly began to become an issue. It was not long after that she came to the painful conclusion that much of her lost memory was probably better off lost and she abandoned the hope of restoring it all.

Instead she focused on more important things, namely finding her mother and Oberst Schlange, and stopping them at any cost. She approached the Freedom Corps first for aid in obtaining permission to enter the Isles using her identification created by Crey. Initially they were hesitant, but lacking resources to track down the doctor or her associates, they eventually agreed.

In the beginning Ava was required to enter and exit the Isles through Freedom Corp approved entry and exit points and was required to go through extensive customs and debriefing each time. This ended up with her frustrated at the amount of time and effort it took her to enter and leave the Isles, and began to cut into her time with Brendan. She also began to see the horrors wrought at the hands of Longbow in the Isles. Ava was now a first hand witness to the atrocities committed in the name of Freedom, and saw Longbow acting no better then and often times worse then Arachnos.

Disgusted, she shared her discontent with others, and found herself in arguments over the Isles. She had gone there expecting a horrible hive of villainy and instead found people struggling to make ends meet. She saw Arachnos, once touted as an all pervasive evil, to be no worse then the government in Paragon or the Freedom Corps. In many ways she saw Arachnos as a lesser evil, at least they weren't pretending to be the good guys.

Angered by her vocal dissent the Freedom Corps began to search her more vigiously and question her more intensely regarding her actions and activities in the Isles. She had now become the enemy, a intelligent dissenter to be squashed. The Corps began a official file on her, and listed her as a possible threat. However Ava wasn't swayed by their threats and she began to fight back, no longer entering or exiting the Isles through the Corps, instead finding her own ways there, mostly through pocket dimensions.

Her integration into the Isles had begun, labeled a villain for her ideas, and she readily began to grow to hate the city she was born in, the same city that had made her what she was. The same city that had scorned her and continued to scorn her. It was in the Isles that she began to find freedom, and acceptance, able to be herself without restrictions, fighting the greater good no matter what it took.

Her search for her mother and Oberst Schlange has had few successes but she continues regardless, and after setting up her company Archon X within the Isles, its become apparent that she had adopted the Isles as her new home.
