Captain Stormrider was created after a year-long hiatus by Akutenshiizero. He is, frankly, the result of many random factors thrown together. For one, the player has grown fond of mage-type classes. Two, his storyline was created on the fly after AkuTenshiiZero thought the pirate hat, Enforcer mask, and trenchcoat looked cool together. Stormrider is designed to be a somewhat more campy villian akin to the Golden Age, and is an almagation of Captain Jack Sparrow and the Firefly universe. Stormrider's story will be fully revealed IC in time, only little bits have been revealed thus far during his drunken ramblings.

Twilight Rania

Several rumors abound concerning the relationship between these two. It's clear there is no romantic involvement, as Stormrider has stated "Tried once...She said she'd pull the trigger if I tried again." Just what binds them is a mystery, given the stark contrast between them and perpetual bickering. Despite this, they've made a reputation as a deadly efficient team. At least one thing is confirmed: Stormrider seems utterly addicted to Rania's custom blend of coffee.

Personality

Captain Stormrider is an odd fellow. He doesn't seem to be particularly malicious, nor does he appear to be too bright. He simply does what he does, and doesn't let anyone stop him. Stormrider believes in absolute freedom, and his ideals border on anarchy. Stormrider does not shy away from killing his opponents, but only those who oppose him rather than innocent victims. Moreso, his one passion is pulling off grand heists. Stormrider has already gained a reputation for pillaging, and shows no signs of slowing down.

Despite Stormrider's oft dim-witted mannerisms, he is suprisingly competant. What he lacks in common sense he gains in strategy and quick tactical decisions. It is easy to see why he was once a successful space pirate captain, yet his lack of common sense makes it equally obvious why he was mutinied against. Many speculate that his atrocious drinking habits are responsible for this, and they're most likely right.

History

Captain Stormrider first appeared in the Rogue Isles in November of 2008. According to Arachnos files, he was found uncontious in a one-man escape pod which had landed off the coast of Mercy Island. Stormrider was taken into custody and questioned, resulting in much confusion for the Arachnos agents. He spoke of a world far differant from this one, where space travel is common and humanity has settled throughout the galaxy. When he was told he had landed on Earth, Stormrider responded that Earth was a myth. It was concluded that he was most likely from a very distant future, so far that the modern age had become anchient legends. Stormrider also made a point of bragging about his former status as a pirate captain, seeming obsessed with his ship the Valkyrie's Lance. The investigation came to an abrupt end when Stormrider revealed his powers and escaped.

Stormrider's freedom would not last long, however. With no resources and no idea where he was, there was little he could accomplish alone. He was soon taken by Arachnos again, however this time their objective was differant. Being an organization which appreciates power and ambition, they made no hesitation in offering him employment. The deal was simple: Work for Arachnos when neccessary, and they would turn a blind eye to his personal actions. With a new resource to draw from, Stormrider began to forge his reputation in the Rogue Isles.

After quite some time working for Arachnos, Captain Stormrider caught the attention of Scirocco. Seeing that Stormrider had become a powerful villian, yet not bloodthirsty, Scirocco made his move to secure his loyalty. Stormrider is slowly becoming a reputable member of Scirocco's forces, paid both in priceless anchient treasures and personal training to better harness his ever-growing lightning powers.

Powers and Equipment

Bio-Electricity

Stormrider's body produces a constant electrical charge. He seems fully capable of controlling just how much electricity he is generating at any given time. He utilizes this charge to blast opponents with high voltage. This charge is also capable of manipulating the very air around him to produce low and high pressure pockets, resulting in abnormal weather effects in the immediate area. As a side-effect, the constant aura grants him flight capability.

It is currently unknown what the source of his powers is. However, he is indeed a human being, and therefore gained his power via some outside influence.

Crey-XP368 Custom, "The Flying Dutchman"

Stormrider02.jpg
During a raid on Crey Industries, Stormrider came upon this prototype suit of powered-armor. It had been cast aside as a failure, not having enough power supply to function efficiently. Naturally, Stormrider simply saw something cool looking and decided to swipe it. After heavily customizing the suit, he christened it the "Flying Dutchman". This suit grants him added protection, as well as focusing his electrical blasts. The power supply is no issue to Stormrider, as it feeds directly off his own bio-electric charge. The only downside of this armor is that it supresses his electromagnetic field, robbing him of his natural flight capability. Therefore, one of the heaviest modifications to the suit was the addition of wings and antigravity thrusters. It has been noted that he is far less maneuverable in the air while flying under these conditions. To date, this suit contains aspects of Crey, Arachnos, and Rikti technology.

Other Skills

As stated, Stormrider is suprisingly brilliant on the battlefield. His keen judgment of situations and ability to plan ahead has made him a successful, and dangerous, criminal. Aside from this, he is also rather skilled with machinery. He was able to modify the Flying Dutchman personally, and is responsible for maintaining the Silver Eclipse base.

Known Enemies

Longbow

Captain Stormrider, like many a villain, despises Longbow. Since his arrival in the Rogue Isles, he has quickly become well-known by the group. While they have been a tremendous thorn in his side, he has practically made a career out of returning the favor. For every random heist he has pulled, Stormrider makes it a point to raid Longbow outposts and sell intelligence and stolen equipment to the highest bidder.

Rikti

Despite his habitually unlawful behavior, Stormrider has recently been seen among the ranks of Vanguard. It isn't so much that he dislikes Rikti, or particularly cares about the threat they pose to humanity. Rather, Stormrider is fond of Vanguard's "Finders keepers" policy involving Rikti salvage. He makes a habit of hunting Rikti to take advantage of this legallized theft, swiping Vanguard equipment on the side just for good measure.
