Undercover Agents are operatives specially trained in the art of espionage. These agents obtain information that is considered secret or confidential without the permission of the holder of the information.

Espionage is inherently clandestine, as the legitimate holder of the information may change plans or take other countermeasures once it is known that the information is in unauthorized hands.

Conversely, agents are also masters of disinformation: The deliberate spreading of false information to mislead an enemy as to one's position or course of action.

Undercover Agents should not be confused with Double Agents.
