Motivation and personality

Kyle is motivation by a mixture of his strong sense of justice and the fact he is a bit of a glory hound. He originally started training to become a hero in his later teens when his family were hurt during anti-mutant riots, and he was the target of those thugs. Another mutant friend of his was also hurt that night and a few other mutants were reportedly killed or went missing, this prompted his desire for justice and to try and make mutants respected and accepted. His intentions are good, but his costume is designed to be colorful and eye-catching. He has trouble resisting daring escapades and has been reported to be a bit 'headstrong and foolhardy', one reporter in a scathing criticism during one of his earlier heroic appearances called him a 'stubborn mule' when despite warnings by a hero he was working with that the operation needed some manner of subtlety and planning, he charged headlong into a door and in full view of the reporter was blasted by a point blank grenade by a council soldier and blown out of the doors to land on his back.

Appearance

Kyle is a humanoid Horse. He bears the head and tail of a horse, and his feet are instead horse-hooves, his legs being akin to those of a horse also. His body is covered in fur, his pelt a healthy brown. His mane and tail are sandy-blonde.

His original Hero outfit was designed to be vaguely patriotic, being red and blue. When he switched his name to Ironweaver, he changed this to a strong black leather with steel chain and gauntlets. Its main idea is to suggest strength and intimidate criminals.

Backstory

Kyle Karrson was always something of a military buff. It was his favoured pastime when growing up to read books of war stories, both fact and fiction, along with reading about battles gone by or wars that were fought. As a child his goal was to become a soldier when he grew, or an officer. This goal didn't really change as he grew into his teenage years. An avid sports player, he played football for his school team and also cross country running. His priority however was mainly in studying martial arts, and he was a Black Belt in Karate by the time he was 14, never shying away from training due to his goal: he loved staying healthy in 'preparation' of his dream to serve his country like so many other real heroes had in times past. It was all to change soon enough, and his carefree youth was stripped away from him by a twist of fate and genetics. The week after his fifteenth birthday he went to bed feeling oddly tired and with a slight temperature, his mother assuming he has a touch of flu or something, it was a Friday so he was not going to miss any school, which was his only concern.. as he wished it had struck the night before! He soon fell into a deep sleep and awoke the next morning to a shock.. his body was covered in hair and his legs and feet were in pain, his feel looking oddly twisted. He was soon rushed to the hospital and subjected to many tests. The results were back within hours wit 'bad news'. The blood tests had shown positive that he was a mutant, and his X-gene had become active and was changing his genetics. The doctor explained that his case looked more severe than those of many mutants and that he would be keps in and given care till his changes were complete. His parents took turns at his bedside over the next few days as he changed as the other took care of his sister. The family was devastated, as was Kyle: mutants were not well thought of in those times, nonetheless they tried to keep a brave face for their son and gave him all the care they could.

After a week of pain and transformation his genes settled, leaving him as a humanoid horse. After a night on watch in case of complications he was allowed to go home. He was aghast at the thought of going out into public looking the way he did, even on the ward many nurses, doctors and even patients had come to look at him, some were merely curious or interested: others were downright cruel towards the 'mutie'. He only agreed to go out in public to get home under the cover of a large coat and hood, though his father joked that he 'looked sillier that way' wit a sad smile. Nonetheless he still drew quite a few stares as he awkwardly walked noisily with his hooves, holding on to his father for balance. The doctors had said he would 'get used to it', at that time he thought he would never do. Once home he sat down, despairing of life, his dreams shattered and afraid to face any of his friends.. even awkward with his on family. His little sister returned home from school not long after, worried for him. At first they stared at each other.. and then to his surprise she smiled and said he looked really cool, and dubbed him 'her pony'. It was the first thing that brought am smile to his features, and it is a nickname that has stuck between the siblings since.

The next few weeks were likely the most trying of his life. For a week he was reclusive.. he dared not venture outside and the curtains to his room remained drawn shut. He avoided windows and spent most of the time in his room, ignoring calls from his friends and skipping a week of school. After the week he started having arguments with his parents who told him that he 'couldn't hide forever' and that he had to try and live again, that he needed to carry on and make the most of his life. He tried to argue all the usual lines.. 'it wasn't their life' 'he was a freak' and all the rest, but on Monday his parents forced him to school with them, where they entered talks with the principal, and it was agreed that he should remain in school and that they could deal with 'his needs'. The following day he returned to class.. it was probably the most awkward day of his life. Rumors had already been going round the school, but when he entered, the entire hallway went silent and he endured stares as he went to his class.. which also fell silent. From that day it was proved that many of those who called him friend were not really that, as they shunned him. He endured a lot of bullying and name calling, even many teachers took a dislike to him and he was often placed in detention for little to no reason. He still had a small collection of friends who stuck by him, one of whom later found out they were a mutant themselves. He was dropped from the football team, and the cross country team with the reason cited that 'he had an unfair advantage over the other students'. He fell into depression and became quite quiet and reclusive. At one point he was even assaulted by a gang of the worse kids, but he weathered their blows and did not fight back: afraid of hurting them. He had developed the scrength of a horse in his transformation and could have pretty easily hurt them badly or worse. He discovered at this time that none of their blows had much effect on him, and after five minutes of beating they gave up and fled as the school janitor investigated the ruckus, finding him lying down, looking roughed up with a broken bat beside him, yet oddly not really hurt.

Over time things got worse for Kyle and his family. They had had more than their fair share of hate mail and threats, and some even called for 'mutants to be kicked form the school', but thankfully that had not happened. The year after his transformation things started going even more downhill, anti-mutant riots started in neighbouring states and the violence spread. The family were deeply scared but tried to carry on, while having family talks and making emergency plans. The flaring up of riots in their town were shockingly fast, though not unexpected. Still, it was not long before a gang of thugs were at their door, Kyle rushed downstairs hearing the ruckus and was shocked to find that he knew these thugs: the same gang that had assaulted him at school.. this time they had come serious: one of them bearing a firearm and the rest knives, bats and even a large hammer. The gun was swiftly pointed at him as the gang members dragged him down the stairs and set about him to the screams of his little sister and mother who was shielding her, his father having been knocked unconscious by a blow to the head. Beating him to the ground and setting about him with knives and when all these failed to hurt him, the hammer.. he did feel the pain of their harder blows, all his protests all along ignored.. these attacks left bruises, invisible under his pelt. They then pointed the gun at the beaten mutant and laughed, emptying the revolver into him point blank. It was painful and he led on the ground curled up, clutching his gut after the first shot, with others raining down on him. Still, even these shots did not have the effect the thugs had wanted and they yelled at him, taunted him.. and then one of them raised a baseball bat towards his family. Something inside him snapped and he staggered to his feet and jumped for them.. this time he set about them with all of his fury and his martial arts training, which he had kept up all along.. bones snapped under his blows and the thugs were soon left unconscious and badly beaten.. he stood there after the combat, having done all he could to shield his family and then tended to them and his father as the thugs fled, some carrying others, some being left where they lay to be unceremoniously dumped from their property.

The family soon fled to a relatives home, one who owned a farm far from the city, there they hoped to be safe from the dangers and they waited out the riots as order was restored. Afterwards life was not the same, there was always a feeling of veiled threat and half of the thugs managed to evade prison, others getting short sentences despite the attempted murder. From the day he returned home Kyle decided on a new goal in life. He wanted to use his power to help protect others. His main goal being to help mutant-kind be accepted, and after some searching he got in touch with agents of Hero Corps who offered him a grant to come study in Paragon City. Though the organization was controversial in the way they used Heroes in a capitalist way, many of the people in it truly wanted to help, and he gained advice and support where he needed it from their 'young heroes' program. They were especially helpful to those such as him: mutants and meta's who would not fit in to a normal job or life due to appearances. He began training once again, excited at the prospect of the school placement in Paragon. He gained a second dan in Shotokan and also taking up Savate, swiftly becoming a master of it due to his prior martial training and his physical fitness. He also renewed his studies, ignoring any jeers at school as he was excited about starting school in Paragon the following semester. Many of his grades were not as high as they had been when he was normal which he put down to dislike of mutants, but he bore it as best he could. With his families blessing and with help from Hero Corps he moved to Paragon City.

Powers

This is probably the only 'power' he has that he calls a true power. He is quite simply invulnerable to damage, with the worst blows only leaving bruises on him. Even a point blank shotgun slug to the gut would not affect him. The limits of this power he does not know: it has increased in potency since he was a teenager, and he has taken AP ammo, grenades and even a rocket launcher blast to no effect other than a slight bruise. (Think superman style: he gets beat by a super-powered villain he can still look beat up, but he's not really hurt)

He is far faster than a human when he runs or moves, this effect is increasing as he trains. Without tapping into his super speed, he can run at Hyper Speed: able to run at about 80mph. When he taps into his super speed, he is able to run at around 800mph: ten times his previous speed. He also has equivalent agility in both states.

He has far more strength than a human, extending into the super strength area. He can probably lift about 16 tons. With his martial arts training he is able to deal blows that could easily kill a normal human or rupture refined metals. This along with his martial arts training which increases the effectiveness of his dealt blows makes him a formidable opponent. His stamina is also increased, and he could quite easily run for hours on end before growing tired.

He recovers from blows quite quickly.. though he is invulnerable to damage, he can still end up with bruises and pain. His regeneration helps him to quickly recover. He is also immune to diseases and poisons. Though he does not know it, he also has a greatly increased life span ahead of him, as having regenerative powers his cells divide perfectly and repair the cellular damage that causes ageing in other creatures.

Abilities/Skills

Over time he has learned various Martial Arts. He is second dan in Shotokan Karate, and has also mastered Savate. These days he is studying Tai Kwon Do, and is currently at his green belt in the martial art. His main focus and combat preference is in kicks, as he liked to make use of his strong legs in combat, but that is not to say he is not able to deal an skilled and efficient strike with his fists.
