Young Svetlana had been warned not to visit the abandoned city, but on a dare she found herself lost within Chernobyl on a dark rainy night. Stumbling into an irradiated junkyard, a freak flash of lightning struck the ground, bathing the teenager in an unearthly glow! When she came to hours later, Svetlana found that she was no longer a mere idealistic young student. With cosmic radioactive powers she was now the Chernobyl Cheerleader, Defender of Truth, Justice, and the Ukrainian Way!
With crime in her village non-existant, she found herself a way into an exchange student program with Paragon City. There, perhaps, her powers would be put to better use fighting the supervillains and otherworldly menaces that plague the great metropolis.
