Yokota Keisuke was never really a noticeable guy. He pushes papers by day, looking like any other paper pusher, tall, quiet, and unnoticeable. He had been a champion archer in his college days, but since then had also fallen behind the scenes, well until he learned the magical secret of a white and red bow he recieved as a gift. He chose a red and white costume (since the leader of a Super Sentai team always wore red) and chose a sentai-like name and headed to the land of opportunites and heroes.

Makings of an archer

Keisuke wasn't exactly the most noticeable kid. He enjoyed watching Super Sentai on TV and always seemed to fly under the radar. He was good at school, better at leading team projects, and best at knowing about Sentai. His parents placed him in private school, hoping he would be more sociable. Nothing really changed. Keisuke was still Keisuke.

That was until a club fair at school. The archery club had set up a challenge for anyone to hit a target and receive a prize for doing so. Keisuke had never tried archery but knew his ancestors (specifically Yokota Takamatsu) had. So he gave it a shot. Picking a long bow, he drew it back and hit the target effortlessly. And so he found himself on the archery team.

Keisuke quickly rose up the ranks and soon found himself as a (rather young) co-captain of the team, participating in both demonstrations and championships, learning unusual techniques such as shooting multiple targets in one shot and firing flaming arrows. When his co-captain graduated and moved on to college, Keisuke took over as the captain, leading the team to several championships and participating in numerous demonstrations.

When Keisuke graduated, he joined the collegiate archery team as well. Once again, he always seemed to fly under the radar until he got a bow in hand, showing his true prowess in leadership and in archery. Otherwise, he was simply a student, studying business and watching Super Sentai shows. In one tournament, Keisuke's long bow met an unfortunate accident and snapped in half when the bus had accidentally backed over some of the equipment. This left Keisuke bow-less until a priestess from a nearby shrine brought him a white bow with red tips, saying it would one day bring him great luck and strength. Keisuke thought the gesture was a bit strange but the bow felt so natural in his hands, as if it had been his the entire time, and accepted the gift with a polite gesture. And the bow did bring him good luck as his team won the tournament that day.

He graduated college and found himself pushing papers at one of the government buildings in Chiyoda. So much for that business degree and archery skill. Paper pushing was hardly an ideal job, but it payed well and he had free time. The red and white bow hung on his wall in his apartment, staring at him every time he sat in the living room. He finally picked it up and he felt a surge of electricity flow through his body. That was strange.

Not too much later Keisuke learned of a city in America nicknamed the City of Heroes. Of course a city of heroes was incredibly tempting for a fan of Super Sentai. He took the a traditional archery outfit in red and white (since those were the colors the leader of a Sentai group wore), packed his things, and moved to the City of Heroes in hopes for greater things. He found himself once again a paper pusher for City Hall, but he got to also become a hero of sorts, using his archery and strange red electric magic.

Factoids

  • Keisuke is a direct descendant of Yokota Takamatsu, one of Takeda Shingen's 24 Generals.
  • As a paper pusher, Keisuke comes across as calm and confident, pretty easy going, but behind a bow, he'll blow stuff up and take things down.
  • Keisuke likes to make things explode because the explosions in Super Sentai series are awesome.
  • He wears glasses but it never seems to affect his aim.
  • Keisuke is a huge fan of tokusatsu, especially of the super sentai type. He's also a fan of samurai movies, particularly those made by Akira Kurosawa.
