Digital Kid

Wesley Prescott is one of many living in Paragon City who cannot claim to know what a truly happy life is. While true he was born to a loving mother and a caring father, Wes was forced to grow up at a very early age when his mother died in the incident that would reshape the zone later renamed 'Faultline' after the villain responsible.

Devastated by the loss of his wife, Marcus Prescott lost himself. Barely functional most of the time and a complete emotional wreck, Marcus maintained employment only out of force of habit. He needed something to do during the day that didn't involve drowning in alcohol. Wes, now a small boy, was forced to care for his father during these rough times, all the while readying himself for school.

Though largely unhappy as a child, Wesley's life improved when he returned home one day to find the apartment spotless, his father well-groomed and clean shaven, and dressed in fresh clean clothes. Marcus had finally realized that he was not alone--though he had lost his wife, Wes had lost his mother as well, and the two were all each other had. Resolving to improve upon his life and grant his son the lifestyle he'd been denied as a young boy, Marcus Prescott founded Prescott Computation Incorporated, a computer and electronics firm that built hardware and software to meet the specifications of its clients.

Wesley, already fond of computers, assisted his father when not in school and within one years' time PCI found itself a firm partner with noteworthy firms such as Portal Corp, Hero Corp, and the several minor government contracts such as supplying the work station desktop PCs for Freedom Corps' local offices.

Wesley, now 15 and in highschool, saw his life as an improvement and on the fast track to actual happiness, a complete reversal from the misfortunes and trials of his early childhood. Then the impossible happened...

The Suit

To this day, Wesley Prescott does not know how he acquired what he simply refers to as 'the suit'. The true origins of this marvelous piece of technology remain a mystery, but their effects upon Paragon City are well-documented and felt everywhere.

Not so much an actual suit as a cluster of nanoscopic computers, Wes' armor is a complex nano-digital computational device that suprasses even quantum computing, rivalled thus far only by the incredibly advanced main computer aboard the supergroup Echelon's starbase, Shade Sentinel. Utilizing each cluster of nanites in the suit's design, the entire suit acts as data storage and Random Access Memory, while the host--in this case, Wesley--acts as the Central Processing Unit, issuing commands to the rest of the device. This complex nano-digital system allows the armor to adapt at an exponential rate, incorporating new devices and abilities into itself as simply as compiling and running a series of code. The suit itself has evolved to incorporate anti-gravity technology allowing flight, space folding technology taken from Shade Sentinel, and complex holographic systems.

Furthermore, the armor is capable of channeling raw streams of fluctuating digital data into powerful blasts that stun, disorient and knock back foes, dealing great damage. Dubbed 'Info-Flux' by Wes, this energy runs throughout the armor while in combat mode, powering systems for attack and defense during battle.

After exploring the systems of this highly advanced computer, Wesley made several adaptations to the source code of the system's driver systems before taking on the name Digital Kid and stepping up to bat as a hero of Paragon City. Within days of stepping onto the streets, 'D-K' quickly found himself amongst friends after meeting with Aisynia, Director of The Echelon, and joining her group. Close friends and known associates include Platino, Aisynia herself, and the most important person in his life, Ezveriahd, D-K's wife.

Ezveriahd

Of all the most interesting things to happen to D-K since his time with Echelon, no one could have expected the relationship that would develop between Ezveriahd, Elven Princess of Azul Hazad, Lady of the Arazahn Dynasty; and Wesley Prescott, aka Digital Kid. Originally a strained friendship, the two 'clicked' after their first several encounters, culminating in D-K 'overclocking' his suit's abilities to record a 5-second sensors entry of Ezveriahd's home, the Crystal Palace--an extradimensional realm from which Ezveriahd was taken against her will.

The overclocking process nearly killed D-K, badly burning his body--specifically, his right arm where the data feed was most concentrated. The nano-clusters that made up the armor around his arm were badly injured, some fragments melted into his very bone structure. Panicked, Ezveriahd--with assistance from the hero Platino, also in Echelon--dragged the injured and half-dead Wesley to the medical bay and revived him after an...interesting...conversation with the suit's digital operating system intelligence, Pixel, a construct D-K himself made to assist with complex suit functions.

Over the next few days they grew close, Ezveriahd finally proclaiming her love. Among her people, love is sudden, deep, and eternal. After a period of introspection, D-K, still fifteen, accepted her feelings and reciprocated them. Azul Hazad custom dictates two people in love be married immediately, and D-K--under the guise of more introspection--made arrangements for a surprise legal marriage in the interdimensional night club known as Pocket D after finally admitting to his father, Marcus Prescott, that he was the Digital Kid and had fallen in love with Ezveriahd. A grand ceremony to celebrate the couple's union is still being planned. With his father's blessing Wesley married Ezveriahd, becoming Azul Hazad nobility in the process. While not without their conflicts, Ezveriahd and D-K's marriage is one of deep emotional bonding, and the two go to extreme lengths to protect the other and stand together.

Pixel

The engimatic Pixel is a Digital Operating System Intelligence(DOSI) created by D-K to facilitate certain complex computations required for daily use of the Info-Flux Suit's abilities. When D-K compiled the Flight Driver, Pixel was tasked with overseeing the implementation of the anti-gravity drivers, thruster manipulation, and minute alterations to nano-clusters to allow faster response times during aerial transit. All of these complex computations are capable of being performed by D-K himself, who is proving to be unusually intelligent with each passing day, but requires extreme concentration. By allowing Pixel to take over these 'support' functions, D-K is able to focus on combat while hovering or flying.

Loud-mouthed, outspoken, and sarcastic, Pixel's personality leads many to question why D-K would construct such a digital avatar. Seemingly unfriendly and lacking any tact, the DOSI often argues vehemently when questioned, insults whomever she is speaking with, and often picks fights for seemingly no reason. Depsite her abrasive attitude and mannerisms, however, she always does what is in D-K's best interest. Over time, that is expanding to include Ezveriahd's best interests as well, though Pixel and D-K's wife have never gotten along, their initial meeting nearly ending in a viral attack against the DOSI by Ezveriahd. Because of this personality conflict, D-K has standing orders that Pixel is to remain 'inside' the suit, and is not allowed to access the Info-Flux Suit's holo-emitters or speaker functions while D-K is conscious and fully operational.

The Future

What does the future hold for Digial Kid and his elven bride? While expressing an interest in meeting his in-laws, D-K respects his wife's desire to stay on Earth for the time being, and continues to do battle with the sinister forces that plague Paragon City on a regular basis. But where did the Info-Flux Suit originate? Who built it, and why? And, more frighteningly, what if there are other models loose? Answers to these questions, and more, remain to be seen...
