Building a Better Doomsday Device

Little is known of Dr. Wilhelmina Warshoski prior to her criminal career. She was a brilliant young woman, even as a child she was building her own computers and designing functional, if simple, robotics. Graduating top of her class from MIT, Warshoski was immediately hired by Crey Industries for their artifical intelligence research division in Paragon City's Steel Canyon district.

Warshoski was reportedly always a little "off," and tended to alienate her co-workers more often than not. Signs of her "mad scientist" nature grew steadily, and finally snapped when he ingenious battle armor designs were stolen from her by her supervisor, who took credit for everything. Said supervisor turned up dead soon thereafter, and Warshoski disappeared from Crey Industries, along with millions in research data and construction materials.

The young doctor was soon caught and arrested by Paragon City Police. Awaiting trial for theft and murder, Arachnos busted Warshoski out of jail and transported her to the Rogue Isles. Lord Recluse had named her one of his "Destined Ones" and set her loose to do as she will.

The Warforged Army

Doctor Warforge's unit of lethal combat robots is a force to be truly feared. Tough, fast, and installed with enough firepower to level the U.S. Marine Corps, these androids are utterly loyal to the Doctor (like they have a choice).

All of these dangerous machines possesses an advanced artificial intelligence designed and programmed by Warforge herself. They all appear intelligent and possibly self-aware, but their freedom is limited by their hard-wired programming. They cannot disobey or betray Warforge under any circumstances, so they seem to settle for bickering with her and insulting her behind her back (and occasionally to her face).

All robots have a coded signal line to a computer core in Warforge's base, over which their A.I. is continually copied and transmitted, about once per minute. The computer core stores the A.I. copies, and downloads them into new robotic bodies when the originals are destroyed (which happens more often than the robots themselves care for). Thus, each robot is, in a sense, immortal. It is believed Warforge has dozens of replacement bots, but only these six A.I. programs, which are far more complicated and expensive to create than the bodies.

Drone-Class Robots

These relatively small bots are Warforge's front-line soldiers, or as she calls them "cannon fodder." The drones don't particularly like being used like this, and they complain about it. A lot. Each is armed with laser blasters.

Junkpile was the first of all the A.I. programs Doctor Warforge created. This bot is the loudest critic of his creator, often seen arguing with the Doctor and deriding her decisions. Why she puts up with this is unknown.

Rustbucket was the second of the battle drones created. It does not bicker with Warforge as Junkpile does, but it does make a lot of snide comments.

Trashcan, the final drone, seems to settle for singing (off-key) a wide variety of songs. It is unknown if this is for the purpose of annoying Warforge (which it does).

Protector-Class Robots

Less offensively oriented, this pair of androids are classified as "protector bots." Virus and Spyware, as they are called, exist more for the purpose of shielding and repairing their fellow robots than laying out destruction, though their laser blasters and photon grenades definitely don't make them harmless. Force field generators and nanite supplies programmed for repair enable them to keep the rest of Warforge's army in working order.

Despite their purpose, Virus and Spyware are the more sinister in nature of all the bots. Warforge approves of this, as they will gleefully kill and destroy whatever she wants, though they seem to resent their primary purpose of defense.

Assault-Class Robot

The lone Assault-class designated "Ragnarok" is a true monster. Almost literally a walking tank, Ragnarok is huge and nearly indestructible. Packing a heavy array of weaponry, including plasma cannons, flamethrowers, and missile launchers, this robot serves no other purpose than death.

Strangely, it's A.I. is child-like. Simple, easily confused and highly temperamental, Ragnarok fixates on Doctor Warforge as it's "mother," and in fact refers to her as "Mommy," much to her chagrin. It is, resultingly, utterly loyal to Warforge without needing to be programmed for it. It will happily die to protect it's creator, but also seems to honestly enjoy destroying everything in it's path, especially when "Mommy" tells it to do so.
