Electrobuster is a college student whose real name is Jonathan [Johnny] Perdue. He currently attends Paragon City University in Steel Canyon with his identical twin brother, who goes by the hero name Kinetic Spark, real name Jacob [Jake] Perdue. Unbelievably, he and his family have been able to hide (and hide it well) the fact that they are mutants and have been generally accepted by the public as "normal" people. Or as normal as they get. The entire family have been able to live quite normal lives. As a student, he is only able to do the hero gig on the side. When he's not being pre-occupied by boxing, that is. He, his brother, and his father have that innate ability to manipulate electricity and thunder throughout their body due to their mutation. Their father works for Tampa Electric Company as a chief electrician, and their mother is a successful chef and operations manager with her own luxury restaurant.

Personalities and Interests

Despite looking and sounding identical, Johnny and Jake have fairly differing personalities. While Jake is the more vocal of the two and is a bit more open-minded with many things, Johnny is more quiet and is the more reserved of the two. Their parents couldn't quite figure out why the two have these differing personalities, but figure it on the fact that it compliments their personalities well. Johnny would prefer to be on the listening end of many things instead of providing input. Though if asked, he will voice his opinions if need be. Many times, he has the same sentiments as Jake, anyway. Though, this does not mean in any way that Johnny is closed-off. In fact, it is the very opposite of that.

This personality difference is also quite shown with the two of them with their interests. Throughout high school, Jake was more involved with the academic clubs in school (i.e. Future Business Leaders of America, Academic Decathlon, etc.) while Johnny was more involved in sports. He was with the basketball team in the winter, and baseball team in the spring. Still, he was not truly too interested in either, as his sport of choice is actually boxing. Of course, he was involved with the Fitness Club.

One thing they did have in common while they were in high school is their involvement in the Associated Student Body organization (Student Council). Johnny took on less stressful roles as he was the class president in his junior and senior year, while Jake took on more responsibilities as student body vice president while a junior, then student body president while a senior. They both possess great leadership ability and skills, and a certain charisma.

Brief History

Electrobuster was born as Jonathan Perdue on February 11th, 1991. Technically, he would be the second son, his twin brother Jacob Perdue being born a few minutes before. They grew up having a very normal life in Tampa, Florida and had quite a number of friends among them. No one in their neighborhood in Tampa knows that they are mutants, and they probably never will. Their parents have apparently hidden the fact that they are mutants for two decades now, and have taught their twin sons well on how to hide them.

Johnny and Jake were fairly popular in school, as they had quite a few admirers and friends. Basically, everyone knew who they were from the moment they were freshmen. There had been a number of times where they had switched places. Whether it was for dates, whether it was for classes, whether it was to get out of difficult and sometimes irritating situations, they have done it. When Johnny could see that Jake had been stressing out with his duties as student body president, Johnny would take over for the day. They have never been caught doing it, and probably never will.

When it was time to start applying for college, Johnny wanted to make use of his powers. Sure he understood that he needed to hide his powers so he and his family wouldn't be feared or ridiculed for being mutants, but felt like he needed to not hide who he was from other people. He showed Jake a flyer for Paragon City University. While they were going to school, he suggested that they could do the hero gig on the side. Instant part-time job. Jake was reluctant at first, but when Johnny showed him how much better their political science program was compared to University of Tampa, he agreed to go. Their parents were, of course, opposed to this at the very beginning. But their father understood where Johnny was coming from. With a little convincing, they were able to apply to Paragon City University and get accepted. Not only that, but they were both able to get on a full-ride scholarship there which paid for their tuition for 4 years, with the provision that their GPA stayed above a 3.33.

Johnny and Jake graduated high school on June 12, 2009. Johnny graduated as the salutatorian with a 3.9 cumulative GPA, and Jake graduated as valedictorian of their class, with a 4.0 cumulative GPA.

Currently, they both attend Paragon City University in Steel Canyon with different majors. While Johnny's is sports medicine, Jake's is political science. On the side, they are learning to use their powers and how this hero business works.

They were both found by hero Nigredo Fist and asked if they wanted to do hero work while under The Young Watchers. He feels that they could mentor others when they have enough experience. But now that NF has left The Young Watchers, he and his brother has been put in charge.

Powers

Both Johnny and Jake have the ability to manipulate electricity in their body. Think of them as eels, only they appear very much human, and they aren't... well.. fish. However, they use this electricity differently. Both have an active current in their bodies in excess of 50,000 volts, and have a dissipation of approximately 100 kiloamperes. Though, neither of them have been able to discharge this much power. Not even close.

Electrical Melee

Combined with his skill in boxing, Johnny can deliver hard and electrified punches. This may sometimes cause foes to go into shock for a few seconds.

Regeneration

The voltage that runs in Johnny's body somehow allows him to regenerate at a rather fast pace. External wounds heal very fast, any sickness he may have goes away in a few hours. Due to this, he can stay awake for a few days at a time and not require so much rest. Unfortunately, Johnny has had the habit of getting 8 hours of sleep every night since he was in his early teens as part of his conditioning with boxing.
