Eule
From Unofficial Handbook of the Virtue Universe
Biologically the species is the accumulation of the experiments of all its successful individuals since the beginning. - H.G. Wells
It's the quiet mad scientists that are the most disturbing. Chris and Cheryl Studzinski were biogenticists, both employed by different subsidiaries of Crey Technologies. Cheryl was quite fertile, producing four children in as many years. However, two of the youngest did not make it past their first birthday.
Doctors were stumped at the cause of death, and the two parents were crushed. They had another child. As soon as this child was born, the eldest child started exhibiting signs of something akin to rabies in animals, becoming uncontrollable and violent. When Children's Services were called in to investigate, they came upon the eldest child in a cage, and the second oldest sitting on a couch surrounded by empty bags of microwave popcorn. Then he started telling the investigators what they were thinking before they even said it.
They took the three children away from the parents. Eventually Children's Services found out that the parents had injected the eldest with a rabies derivative. The second child, it was believed, had its genes manipulated so that he could be a telepath. The third child also had her genes manipulated, but it's unsure as to how/if it will manifest as anything.
The seven-year old boy, named Mark, was adopted out to a family that mostly had an innate ability to deflect simple mind readers. His adoptive father, Derek Barker, was a journalist for the Boston Globe, and was able to get Mark some special schooling so he could learn to control his powers. As he grew up, he perfected his abilities, by being gentle and unsensed, or hard and controlling as necessary.

Hero Corps
At the age of 15, Derek brought him to Hero Corps for training and for work. He easily surpassed most of the psionics there in telepathy (he has no limit to his range with telepathy), mind reading, memory retrieval and removal, and easing of traumatic experiences. He doesn't know how to use telekinesis.
He has just recently found out that HC is a subsidiary of Crey Industries, and because of that, he's left. He is now a full-time student.
Safe Havens
Grimaulkin hired him from Hero Corps to assist Mindstryker in clearing members to Safe Havens. He became known as the more quiet and gentle assistant. He grew to have a crush on Kalius, who nipped that quickly in the bud. Then, the Praetorians came, and he was captured by the Praetorian version of Kalius, General Kalius. The General took him as a lover, and eventually would turn him into a slave. Eule accepted all this, and when the Havens group attacked, General Kalius was killed.
For months he was depressed, and finally came out of it after some therapy (which he is still undergoing). Eventually technomancers came into the group and began doing the work that he was hired to do, so he left.
After a short stint with Hyperion Force, where he assisted Stature X and a few others, he returned to work for Hero Corps. He split up with Solar Battery in December of 2010, also quitting Hero Corps, and works now for the FBSA as needed all across the country. He presently lives in Detroit.
Role playing notes:
- Eule is very respectful of authority, and will strive to please them. He will initially call you "sir" or "ma'am" until told otherwise.
- He often will mistakenly eavesdrop on people's uppermost thoughts, but he has conditioned himself to not react to them unless they are extreme. ((If you want him to hear what you're thinking, just shoot a tell.))
- He is very gentle when he enters a person's mind, most of the time the person doesn't even sense him there, until he starts requesting information. He's working on making that kind of suggestion seamless.
- He's homosexual, but not flamboyant.
- He's had boyfriends before, and is usually the submissive one. He loves to feel protected.
- He can establish a temporary mind link at will.
- It takes a lot to scare him. He accepts the strangeness around Paragon as par for the course, and sick and twisted things in people's minds or in real life don't scare him. They may make him gulp, but he uses his conditioning to take the feeling away.
