Biography

"I have no idea who my parents were. What little I do know, is that my mother was killed unjustly and I'm going to make those bastards pay for that."

Elijah Hudson has no recollection of his mother or his father. After his birth he was handed over to the Angel Guardian Orphanage where he was raised until he was 18. Upon the day of his release he was taken aside by the sister who helped raise him from birth. She was an elderly woman who was always kind to Elijah and he had come to love her very much. The sister began to tell Elijah that he was different from the other boys, that he was special but it was time for him to know the truth about his birth. The sister walked with Elijah out into the courtyard and spoke about his mother. She told him that she was a well respected scientist who would write to him often. The sisters had deliberately kept the letters his mother wrote to him from him until he was of an age where he would understand and begin to process everything with maturity. They reached the courtyard and the sister handed over a folder. Shiny and black with the depiction of a red spider on the front. Elijah took the folder.

BANG

The sister stood with her mouth open, a newfound red spot now marked her forehead where before there was aged flesh. She fell backwards. Elijah's world started to spin. He turned around to see a figure run from the rooftop, but not enough to make them out. He turned back to the sister. Before he had time to mourn her death, he could hear the sound of glass breaking and the whoosh of fire. The orphanage had been set ablaze.

Elijah clutched the folder and ran.

By the time he stopped running, he was out of breath and the memory of the orphanage was a smoky pile of ashes in the background. He opened the file. It was empty.

Elijah moved on with his life from that point. He started out homeless until he was befriended by a young man who had taken a shine to Elijah. The young man called himself James and he let Elijah live with him. Under no pretense, the relationship between them was purely sexual...at first. James and Elijah grew closer together. James would listen to Elijah's plight and support him. Elijah found a job working in a restaurant and slowly began to save some money.

James and Elijah found themselves at the Fair, late at night. Encouraging Elijah in a jibe, James egged Elijah on to get his fortune read by a fortune teller saying that maybe she would have the answers he was looking for. Elijah decided to take him up on the idea. What was the worst that could happen?

As Elijah sat in front of the old woman, with bad makeup and who smelled faintly of old books, she began to move her hands over the crystal ball in her usual theatrical style. However, as her crystal ball began to glow with a bright, pale yellow, she stopped. The yellow disappeared and a myriad of pure white clouds filled the ball. The woman began to look terrified, Elijah watched in confusion, certain is was all an act. The woman's eyes locked onto Elijah's and she muttered one word, "Aasimar", before she fell out of her chair. Dead. As Elijah got up to check if it really was an act or if it was real, screams began to fill the night air outside of the tent.

Thinking of James, Elijah ran to the tent and pulled back the curtain to find James' body lying at the entrance. His body was riddled with bullet holes. Fearing for his life and no time to mourn, Elijah ran. Again.

The next six months for Elijah passed by in a teary blur or grief...

When he finally had run out of tears he began to search that one word the old woman had muttered. Aasimar. He clicked on the links and there it was on the page in front of him:

"Aasimar are a race of humanoid creatures who are descended from celestials, angels."

Elijah stared at it for a long time. It was the most ridiculous thing he'd heard of and yet, almost as if a key had unlocked a long closed door, Elijah began to hear with tiny whispers. Unable to make them out, he decided a walk would clear his head. As he hit the street and crossed the road to the populated park, he immediately wished he hadn't. The voices became stronger and he began to hallucinate.

The couple on the bench eating ice cream together turned into a violent mess of arguing and thrown punches, the teenager sitting on the grass alone, listening to music transformed into a pool of sadness in their bathroom, blood flowing freely from their arms as they tried to cut out the pain.

Unable to process what was going on, Elijah returned home and slept. When he woke, he decided it was time do something about this puzzle with too many missing pieces. By now he had pieced together that the symbol on the folder was an Arachnos symbol and he knew they were somehow involved. As Elijah opened the desk drawer a letter fell out it read:

"To my Angel, you might think our meeting was coincidence, heck I did a good job of playing it out like it was, but it wasn't. You were assigned to me for protection. What they didn't brief me on or prepare me for, was the fact that I just might fall in love with my charge. Elijah, I love you more than you'll ever know, because I'm afraid I won't have the opportunity to tell you just how much I do and I've never said it as often as I should. In my parting, let me leave you with something far greater than any feeble attempt I could provide you with at protection. Go to your bed and under it will be a box. Inside will be a token from me. All my love, James."

Elijah found the box and opened it. Inside were what appeared to be two handguns, yet they looked very unconventional. As soon as Elijah touched them he felt an instant connection. Almost as if they were made for him.

He would spend the next two years of his life preparing for his next endeavour, the Rogue Isles and Arachnos. Leaving with the contact details of an organisation he believes would help him, Phoenix Insurrection, Elijah sets out to find the answers he's waited for.

Powers and Abilities

Divine Intervention: Because of Elijah's Aasimar background, he has been marked by heaven and as such is subject to a higher probability of divine intervention in times of need. It is most likely to occur when he is in a stressful situation (such as fighting or escaping). However, the intervention does not come for free, Elijah must act in order for him to receive the help he needs. For example, if debris falling from the sky was about to hit him in the head, he would still be hurt if he stood still.

Celestial Empathy: Elijah has a heightened connection to others, particularly those who are in pain or experiencing grief and regret. This ability allows him to sense the emotions of others and soothe one emotion at a time. His ability to work with others emotions is dependent completely upon his will. Another part of his ability means that the painful parts of a person's past are sometimes forced upon him in an attempt to allow him to better relate to that individual. This is an ability that Elijah has no control over.
