Biography

Jason Killian's mutation first manifested when he was 14. He'd always had a penchant for music but when his mutation kicked in it suddenly became the centre of his world. Jason's ability to control sound and sound waves through psionic means caught the attention of the Powers Division in Praetoria, as did any superhuman, and he was, of course, recruited. In the Powers Division he received nothing but the best training in the use of his powers. It was during this time that he also took an interest in firearms and the more he practiced with them, the more he learned that he could affect the bullets through his manipulation of the sound waves produced by his handguns. Over time he became one of the top marksmen of Powers Division. This unique ability earned him the codename Gun Song.

Jason's parents had always taught him to do what he thought was right, to think for himself and stand on his own two feet. A way of thinking that was rarely seen in Praetoria, but one that his parents wanted Jason to take up, regardless of his current status. As Jason climbed in the ranks of Powers Division he began to get the feeling that some things didn't add up. Why were all superpowered beings forced into recruitment? What was so bad about some people that they had to be taken to the Behavioural Adjustment Facility (BAF)? These were just a couple of questions that Jason could not answer and he knew that nobody else wanted to. That fateful day in the tunnels beneath Nova Praetoria changed everything.

As Jason was confronted with the choice of saving a known member of the Resistance or helping the Praetorian Police Department, Jason assessed the situation and realised that this might be the opportunity he needed to get the answers to those questions. He helped the Resistance member and, soon after, joined the Resistance himself. Over the next two years Jason would help the Resistance achieve many great things like sending messages out the Praetorian public to open their eyes to the true nature of Cole's rule; helping an ex-seer, Katie Douglas, to free some of those still held captive; helping the creature known as The Noble Savage reunite with his family; helping Penelope Yin to thwart the plans of Metronome and most impressively, helping the Dark Watcher, the Primal Earth emissary, to destroy Cole's supply of brainwashing Enriche.

The one feat that affected Jason the most was the story of Aaron Walker. Jason hated to see anyone suffer needlessly and so, from the very start, he wanted to help Aaron any way he could. During the mission to rescue Aaron from Neuron, Jason and his companion at the time, the Ru'Harr known as Hari, Aaron died. Jason was the last person he saw and he thanked him for helping him to complete at least one good deed in his lifetime before he passed on. Jason didn't have time to mourn as him and Hari were ambushed by the PPD and T.E.S.T officers.

Having learned of Primal Earth from the Dark Watcher, Jason knows that the only way to save Praetoria from Emperor Cole is to win over the trust of the heroes of Primal Earth and so, when given the opportunity, he chose to go to Paragon City. Armed with a skeleton of information regarding what would be his new home, Jason now lives in Paragon City and works hard to earn the trust and respect of the heroes of Paragon.

Powers

Phonographic Memory: the ability to hear any sound and store it in his memory bank. He can then replicate this sound exactly any time he chooses. He can use this ability to mimic machinery, animal sounds, vehicles, and voices of either sex. The exact limit of the storage capacity is unknown, but it is said that he has stored entire iTunes libraries.

Audiokinesis: ability to create various sonic effects psionically including the generation of sound.

Flight: Gun Song can use sonic vibrations as a carrier wave. He also uses this ability over shorter periods of time allowing him to jump higher and longer than a normal human.

Sonar: can use his sonic powers as a form of sonar. By sending out a precise, pure note and listening to the returning, altered wavefront of the note, he can evaluate his surroundings in total darkness with varying degrees of resolution.

Sonic Null Field: can project a field of silence in a area making no sound reach outside the area or no sound outside the area in.

Sonic Amplification: can amplify sound carrier waves allowing him to hear conversations or noises from far off.

Sonic Shield: can tighten sound waves around himself or others near him, making a barrier against outside attack.

Vocal Unconsciousness: through skillful manipulation of sound he can affect the fluid in someone’s ear causing the person to go unconscious.

Sound Immunity: Gun Song's hearing and equilibrium are unaffected by the effects of sound at any volume.

Seismic Wave Generation: Gun Song possesses the superhuman ability to generate seismic waves from his hands, creating highly destructive effects. When directed against the earth itself, the vibrations produce effects similar to those of an earthquake within limited areas.

Sound Conversion: Ability to transduce sonic vibrations, which reach his body into various types of light.
