Interwiki linking allows for easy linking between different wiki projects by adding a predefined prefix to your links that use an internal style link, eg [[Page Name]]. Interwiki links are incredibly portable and are the recommended method for linking to other wikis.

Usage

Lets say you want to reference an article on ParagonWiki about St. Martial. Before the addition of Interwiki links you would have needed to type in the long outside url to the ParagonWiki article for St. Martial.

[http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/St._Martial St. Martial]

With the addition of interwiki linking you can easily shorten those links and make them more portable by entering them instead using the Interwiki Prefix.

[[ParagonWiki:St. Martial]]

or

[[pw:St. Martial]]

This format has the benefit of being easily updated if a URL to an outside wiki changes, so if ParagonWiki moves again you won't need to edit every link on your page as we will change it on the back end in a single place.

You'll also notice that ParagonWiki has two interwiki prefixes, one is what is refered to as the Long Form prefix and the other is the Short Form prefix. Either is completely valid for usage on the site.
