Leopold von Klingen was a German supersoldier, created by Requiem's 5th Column during World War II. One of the 5th Column's most fearsome agents, he was as brutal as he was ingenious, and was ferociously loyal to Requiem. So loyal that he volunteered to be cryogenically frozen after the war, should the 5th Column ever have need of his services in the future. His frozen body remained in 5th Column custody until 2005, when The Center and his Council troops overthrew the 5th Column. A short time afterwards, Klingen's body was sold to AeonCorp for a paltry sum. Dr. Forrester attempted to thaw him but - human cryonics still being an inexact science - found that while his body was still alive, he was completely brain-dead. The Doctor's (somewhat predictable) answer was to abduct a small-time criminal named Roy Johnson and transplant his brain into Klingen's body. However, Roy managed to escape Arachnos custody before they could reprogram his mental patterns... and he is currently at large.
