Hunter Omega: I hate them. Those aliens killed my brother. And now there are aliens everywhere. They pretend to be heroes, but I know the truth. They killed my brother. And I have to get them first, before they kill more real humans. I can do it, you know. We are heroes, my brother and I; we are the Hunters! The Alpha and the Omega! He was first, you know. Only 30 seconds, but he was the Alpha! But our powers are the same. But now he is dead. And I need more power to kill these aliens. I need more power.

Council Representative: We share your hatred, my friend! We see these aliens for what they are: unclean, inhuman scum that pollute our planet and threaten our lives. We can help you against them. We can help you get the power you desire. Let me tell you about a new direction for our Void Hunter program...

Affiliations, Past and Present

Hunter Omega Prime, in his earlier incarnations was a member of two very different organizations. The first was the Hunters, a superheroic duo made up of himself and his brother that battled everyday threats to Paragon City, lasting until his brother's death during the First Rikti invasion. The second organization was far more sinister: the Council. After his brother's death, Hunter Omega became a super powered murderer, killing heroes of an alien origin, before he entered training in the Void Hunter Program. He has since left that organization. Currently, Hunter is affiliated with the supergroup The Gray Veterans of Paragon, working to restore a reputation he almost destroyed. Most are not aware of his actions between his brother's death and his joining the Council.

Personality

What personality do you prefer? The heroic defender of the common people of Paragon City, happy and strong at his brother's side? How about the bitter, angry, and simply obsessed hero killer, who sees an alien on every corner and can barely contain his rage? Or, well, there is his current personality: a regretful, unhappy, but mostly sane hero who prefers not to talk about what came before and is most likely to twitch at the sight of his own face in the mirror, as the voice in his head strives to maintain his sanity? All of these personalities await inside this once-broken man.

Powers

Hunter Omega Prime is a Kheld of the Warshade variety; as such, he has decided to rely mainly on the powers inherent in his forms, virtually abandoning his original abilities and the Void Hunter weaponry he had been outfitted with.

Abilities as Hunter Omega

In his original incarnation, Hunter Omega had access to a variety of dark energy powers that were actually quite similiar to the Warshade Umbral Blasts, so much so that he still wonders about their original origin. His brother, after all, had light energy powers. He also had limited flight ability, thanks to his ability to manipulate his personal gravity. That power has since disappeared, though he is not sure why he no longer can access his pool of flight abilities. Because of the connection to his own hated past, he has chosen to limit his use of most of his original abilities.

Abilities as a modified Void Hunter

As part of the Council's attempt to ramp up their Void Hunter program by infusing Nictus into already powered individuals, they provided the temporarily insane and murderous Hunter Omega with a degree of training in Void Hunter skills and tactics, as well as their equipment. Most of his training, then, consisted of uses of the Quantum Array Gun, as well as typical Council physical training. Hunter Omega Prime was intended to be the first of the last of the Void Hunters (a pun on his own heroic identity, you see). When he abandoned the role he was recreated for, he abandoned EVERYTHING except the name and the uniform. At times, he wishes he kept the gun!

Abilities as a Kheldian

When the Nictus that joined with him repaired his damaged psyche and infused him with his current powers (for reasons that are still unclear; the Council obviously made a huge error in their selection of this particular Nictus to join with this particular subject), Hunter Omega Prime gained a variety of abilities, some of which were similiar to his earlier powers, and others which relied on form switching. We have observed that Hunter Omega Prime tends to use the following abilities the most, suggesting that he has indeed sought to flee from both his heroic and villainous pasts:

Gravity Well

This power (actually reflective of an original power) allows Hunter to trap foes in an umbral force, limiting their combat and movement. He tends to use those mostly against his former colleagues in the Void Hunters.

Starless Step

A version of the more well known 'teleport foe', Hunter Omega Prime has been observed using this power to drag his enemies through some sort of umbral dark space, pulling them close enough to trap with his Gravity Well.

Sunless Mire

This power was not observed in the earlier incarnation of this hero. It is unclear, but it seems to use the life force of enemies to strengthen his attacks. The more enemies, the better.

Unchain Essence

He makes the dead go boom. What more needs to be said? Ick.

Dark Extraction

We know that this is indeed a Warshade ability, as the hero has never demonstrated an ability to drain the souls of the dead before. Using this power, Hunter Omega Prime may force the souls of defeated foes to fight at his side. Again, ick.

Teleportation Abilities

With his access to his prior flight pool mysteriously closed off, Hunter Omega Prime has developed the Warshade ability of teleporation. He may teleport across vast distances through some sort of Umbral wormhole, drag his foes through that wormhole, and transport teammates to his side. But he still wishes he could fly.

Form Powers

Hunter Omega Prime, in our observation, has chosen to rely primarily on his Warshade forms for combat and defense.

Nova Form

More colliqually known as the 'squid,' Hunter Omega Prime has focused much of his IO development and destructive training within this form. He has found that the offensive capabilities of the squid, despite their limited variety, more than offset the lack of protection the form offers.

Dwarf Form

This form, sometimes referred to as the 'beetle' or 'lobster' form, allows Hunter Omega Prime to go toe to toe with most foes; the mez protection is tremendous, and he has sought through in depth training with inventions, to improve the offensive capabilities of the form.
