Affiliations

As a cousin to the McAllister family, Incantria is a member of the Angelic Blondes. With her membership, she is also affiliated with the coalition partners of the team; namely the Stilleto Heeled Enforcers and the Coven of Justice.

Personality

Incantria is still relatively young, and has a cheerful disposition. She does know when to be serious, and tries to keep the peace between two parties having an argument. She can be persistant and stubborn, and wants to make sure that people she is associated with are treated fairly.

Powers

Incantria's powers stem from her studies of various mystic arts. She has the start of a decent mystic library and can use many different rituals and spells. However, she has a stable of spells that she finds the most useful in everyday situations as a heroine. These spells concentrate on Illusion, Healing, and Transportation. Incantria also uses a minor cantrip that turns her hair blonde and her eyes blue to aid her disguise while in her Hero ID.

Abilities

Incantria has expert knowledge of Hispanic and Native American mystic arts, as well as arts stemming from Catholicism (Angelic and Saint Magic, santeria, ect.). She also has a working knowledge of several Western schools of magic, including Voudon, various forms of Wicca, Tarot Divination, Hermetic Theory, and Quabbalism. She is currently studying Norse Runes and multiple Eastern schools of magic, such as Tantric, Shinto, and Hindu. She has expert knowledge of herbalism, with an almost complete knowledge of herbs found in the American Southwest. She also speaks fluent Spanish and Arapaho, and has basic reading/conversation skills in Greek, Hebrew, and Latin.

Incantria is also an expert cook, having helped her grandmother in the kitchen since she was just a little girl. Her repertoire includes old family recipies (such as a recipie for chile verde that has been used for generations), Native American dishes (such as a lamb and hominy stew adapted from a Zuni recipie), and experiments of her own. Her favorite recipie that she created is a breakfast dish adapted from Eggs Benedict that she calls 'Huevos Angela', consisting of poached eggs over corn cakes and smothered in a spicy red sauce with chicken.

Equipment

Incantria has access to various tools, herbs, and foci needed to work magic. She does not need any equipment for her commonly used spells. Advanced spells and rituals may require common and/or esoteric components and materials.

History

Family Background

Angela Dominguez-Maxwell is the daughter of Arturo Dominguez and Mary Dominguez-Maxwell. She is also the niece of Gerald Maxwell, ex-husband of Beatrice McAllister (Mistress Ohm) and is thus the first cousin of Willow Frost McAllister (Frostwillow), Karen McAllister (Shi-Ran) and Patricia McAllister (Flame of Texas).

Early History and Childhood

Mary Maxwell never approved much of her older brother Gerald. As Gerald built up his criminal empire and became more brutal, Mary became more isolated from him, eventually going to college at Colorado University with a major in journalism. It was at CU that Mary met Arturo Dominguez, a young business major with an eye on becoming a banker. During thier courtship, Mary began practicing Catholicism and converted a year before their marriage in 1985. Looking to raise a large family on Arturo's family's ranch outside of Springfield, Colorado, Mary and Arturo ran into difficulties concieving a child. Finally, on July 7, 1988, Thier first and only child, Angela, was born. Due to complications in labor, Mary required a hysterectomy and would never be able to have another child again.

Angela grew up slightly spoiled from her only child status, but her grandmother, Maria-Lourdes Dominguez, helped to keep her grounded. Secretly, Maria was a brujah, a practitioner of Mexican witchcraft, as well as a practitioner of santeria. Maria sensed the mystic power within Angela when the girl was but a toddler. To prevent such potential from being wasted or corrupted, Maria started to secretly train her granddaughter when Angela was very young; teaching her about herbs while they cooked and telling her stories of Hispanic folklore to develop Angela's imagination. As Angela grew, Maria showed her more secrets, like helping her with preparations for Dia de los Muertos, cleansing the doors and windows of the Dominguez ranchhouse, and preparing herbal remidies for the people that came to see Maria for healings and blessing. Although Angela's parents dismissed it as superstition, they enjoyed the fact that Angela had a close relationship with her grandmother, unlike many chldren her age.

Teens and Further Training

As Angela entered high school, her mystic training continued with more rituals and spellwork. Maria took Angela to see some of the remaining Arapaho shamen that lived in the area to further her training. Magic came easily to Angela, leaving her plenty of time to spend on normal teenage things, like hanging out with friends and going on dates. No one thought there was much out of the ordinary about Angela, aside from a tomboy-ish streak and a love of old stories and folklore.

By the time Angela was ready to graduate from high school, she was already as powerful as her grandmother and her other trainers. Angela decided to continue her training, dedicating her life to gaining mystic knowledge to heal and protect others. To this end, she enrolled as an anthropology major at Paragon City University, hiding her minor of occult studies from her parents. Attending PCU would also allow her to train with some of the most powerful mages on the Earthly plane that lived in Paragon City. During her first semester, she started an internship as a librarian aide at the MAGI office in Atlas Park. After months of training with Azuria and some of the other mages, Angela was proficient in some basic spells that would be useful in combat. She finally felt ready to begin her carreer as a heroine.

A New Family

Angela had aways heard stories about her Aunt Beatrice. With Bea living such a public and, in the eyes of her parents, wanton lifestyle following her 'leaving her family duties', Angela was told the stories as a cautionary tale of the dangers of such a life. Unfortuantely, it had the opposite effect on Angela; she had always been curious about things that her parents forbade 'just because'. With Bea's life as a superheroine a matter of public record, Angela decided to approach her aunt and see if she could get some pointers.

Bea had seen some pictures of Angela, courtesy of Angela's mother in an attempt to try and 'bring her back to her senses and show her what she's missing with her lifestyle choice.' Bea quickly recognized Angela and welcomed the girl with open arms. Over coffee, Bea caught Angela up on the family that she never knew, and eventually offered Angela a spot on the Angelic Blondes. Angela accepted hapily and is reconnecting with this side of her family. The largest sticking spot right now is her cousin Karen, who has a natural distrust of anyone connected with her father Gerald. Angela sees her cousin's struggle and is patiently waiting for Kari to warm up on her own without being forced by anyone. Angela is accepting of the unorthodox nature of the McAllister clan and considers Heather Ray (also known as the heroine Venus in Furs) as her 'second tia'.

Recently, Kari's twin sister, Trish, completed her exodus from the Rogue Isle to Paragon City and is in the process of becoming a heroine to make up for her misdeeds. Angela started off offering to guide Trish around Paragon City and help her in completing tasks assigned to her. The two cousins became good friends quickly, with Angela offering her own apartment as a place for Trish to stay at when she wants to get away from the rather affectionate atmosphere of the McAllister home/base. What started off as a good friendship has turned into a full-blown romance; Angela and Trish are very much in love with each other and spend most of thier free time together.

Glimpses of the Future

During her recent 'initiation' into the Angelic Blondes, Angela went into a vision state for two hours, during wich time she saw and communed with the spirit guides for the various members of the Blondes. In addition, she also had various visions of the future, most of which she is keeping quiet about. But in a recent talk with her aunt Bea, she disclosed that one particularly strong vision showed her having identical triplets in the near future. The father of the children is either unknown to her or she is unwilling to disclose the information.
