Infiniteen is inspired by Quasar and Green Lantern, but I wondered how it would work if a teenager was tasked with their job. We'll see how it goes.

Character History

Jake Templeton was born in Founder's Falls to Richard and Mary Templeton. Richard works in the automobile industry as a designer for BMW and is often away from home. His mother, Mary, is a stay-at-home mother who looks after him. When Jake was two, his younger sister Jessica was born.

A Normal Teenager

The young Jake had a fascination with costumed heroes and their epic struggles. His mother would take him to the comic shop every Wednesday to pick up the newest releases. He also collected their action figures, and to this day has over 100 of them. His most prized possession is a battle-damaged, Series 3 Ascendant that because of an error in design, has black hair. Only a hundred of them were made before they were discontinued from the error.

High school was pretty easy for Jake. His upbeat and friendly attitude won him many friends and few enemies. Despite some of his nerdier hobbies, the bullies seemed to overlook him. In the 11th grade he started working a job at El Super Mexicano. He didn't need to, but he wanted one.

Approaching Infinity

One night while taking out the trash at work, he found what appeared to be a dying alien. Confused and a little scared, he wanted to run away but found himself compelled to approach the alien and kneel at his side. Dying at his side, the alien removed the bands he wore on his wrist and with the last of his strength, pushed them into Jake's hands.

Jake understood that the alien meant for him to put them on, and he did. He was instantly flooded with all the knowledge of those that worse the bands before him and adorned with a costume matching one the alien wore. In a daze, he made his way to City Hall to register himself as a hero.

He told them what he could figure from his new knowledge. He wore the Infinity bands, the equipment used by the space-faring Infinity League. One pair is given to each planet that they deem worthy of protection. The former wearer crash landed on Earth while escaping a villain from a far-off galaxy.

Putting them on permanently bonded Jake to them, until he had chosen a successor. The alien had chosen him to prevent the pursuing villain from acquiring them. Jake knows that it is only a matter of time until the Infinity League sends a representative to Earth to formally induct him to their group. In the mean time, he is using his new abilities to fight crime and do is duty as a member of the Infinity League.

Personality

Jake Templeton is a bright, happy teenager. Nothing ever seems to get him down, and he firmly believes that the good guys win and the bad guys lose. Protective of all those he values as friends, he will fight to defend them whatever the cost to himself. Despite the villainy he sees now face to face as a costumed hero, he holds true to his perhaps naive innocence that the heroes win and the villains go to jail. He also believes in forgiveness, that all villains have a chance to redeem themselves.

Powers

All of Jake's powers are derived from the Infinity bands he wears on his wrists.

Gravity Manipulation

The primary function of the Infinity bands is to manipulate gravity for a number of tasks. First, since the chosen defender of a planet may be from another, it constantly surrounds the wearer in a gravity field that protects any harmful effects of existing in a weaker or stronger gravity. Second, by manipulating this field the wearer can propel himself through the air through slight alterations in gravity. Third, the bands can project this field in order to increase or decrease the effective gravity of an area for a

number of effects. Foes can be locked in the air with accurate gravity alterations, or thrown violently with strong ones. Through the most finite manipulations, objects and be moved with an effect similar to telekinesis. These objects can then be thrown at enemies.

Force Field Projection

The secondary function of the Infinity bands is to project fields of pure force. These fields have a number of uses. The wearer can surround himself in a near-impenetrable field, surround his allies in protective force, and even shoot small blasts of the force at his enemies to incapacitate them. There are different properties depending on the way the force is projected, creating varying shields of force from ones of hard force that deflect bullets, knives and other attacks to ones that insulate to protect from the elements and harmful energy.
