Sometimes a hero isn't a man or woman with abilities that set them apart from natural society. Sometimes it's a man with a sense of duty. One who understands the fine line between good and evil, right and wrong. A hero that is driven only by his sense of justice that outweighs all. One who'll put his life on the line regardless the situation. Wether it be breaking up common street gangs, to fighting the enemies of his country. That my friends, is a hero.

Known Powers
With the use of Negatons (Microscopic super computers designed for genetic alteration) John can completely manipulate the energy distribution throughout his entire body. This allows him to move at super speeds, charge bolts of energy into his fists, or increase the potential of his own bodily limits.

As a Force Reacon Marine and Lonbow Agent, John is a master with firearms and explosives. Also he is quiet skilled in the use of hand-to-hand combat.

Background

Semper Fi - "Always Faithful"

Serving in the USMC was a dream come true. Finally it seemed John was fullfilling his sense of duty, and gaining a sort of honor and dignity for himself. After successfully finishing Force Reacon training, John and Cassidy were shipped off to the unknown stretches of the world, later serving in both the War in Iraq, and the fight against the Rikti Invasion. With his utmost loyalty to his country and the corpe, John showed excellent leadership capabilities, and quickly rose to the rank of Gunnery Seargeant and later given his own small marine task force for which the government would send on mission's unbeknownst to the rest of the populace. It was on one of these missions that John would experience true pain. Deployed to a small island miles from paragon city, John was charged with the task of infiltrating and destroying an Arachnos facility being used to develop advanced weapons of warfare. Here his life long best friend, and brother -in- arms Cassidy Kaine turned rogue, selling out John and his unit to Arachnos Operatives. For power, Kaine single handedly exceuted his teammates, and left his friend to severe torture. Six weeks crept by as day by day John was subjected to the worse possible pains, none however measured up to the pain of betrayal. Not long however his freedom would come in the form of an arachnos widow. Simona Elms, an Arachnos widow was placed in charge of maintaining John's daily 'activities'. Yet, as the days drug on, Simona found herself enthralled by John's will to cling to what life he had left. This fascination eventually turned into a desire, and a relationship was sparked. The last weeks of John's imprisonment were somewhat pleasant, finding himself called to Simona's quarters nightly. However, when an executive order to execute the strong willed marine was given, Simona's blind emotions led her to turn traitor. In an effort to escape Arachnos, John and Simona were drawn into confrontation with the newly appointed Arachnos soldier, Cassidy Kaine. John, who's body was still beaten from weeks of torture was pushed into the seat of an arachnos flyer prepped for takeoff as Simona stayed behind to fend off the encroaching Cassidy Kaine. In the end, as John took off, the sight of Cassidy snapping the neck of the his love interest, was the last memory of his long time friend.

Project: ARMS

John's return to Paragon City was as shocking to his command as the news of the traitorous Cassidy Kaine. Issued a mandatory leave to recover, John found himself haunted by the ordeals, and the scar on his face was a constant reminder. Meanwhile, the infamous Hero Corps had initiated the ARMS project. A way of enabling Longbow field agents to deal with the rising threat of super powered criminals. Developed by D.A.T.A scientist Miles Nega, ARMS enabled the splicing of Nanomachines into the DNA structure. These nanomachines, later called 'Negatons' were programmed and outfitted with genetic alteration programs. This caused the subject of Negaton splicing to, when accessing the nanomachines, temporarily become a superpowered human. When the project was shifted to human testing, John was given the opportunity by his superiors to be one of the first ten to undergo the procedure. He agreed, and was issued the negaton splicing. All together ten were chosen for the initial testing of the process, only John walked away with his sanity.

Negatonic Energy Release and Distribution: N.E.R.D

WARNING: Overextension of negatons may cause energy release!
With the use of the negatons, John is able to control the distribution of energy (Both mechanical and bio) throughout his body. Mainly used to enhance his own bodily attributes, he can also channel bolts of bio-chemical energy into parts of his body for devastating close range assaults. However the constant use and overextension of the negatons have begun to cause massive surges of bio-chemical energy to radiate from his body (Hence his aura). Though not at all harmful, at times causes discomfort..

Yes, the acroynms stand for Big Fucking Gun. This baby has it all. Flamethrower, rocket propelled grenade launcher, built in long range scope function, burst rounds, semi or full auto, 450 rounds of ammunition, and a wide range of adjustable parts. Only thing this sweet dealer of destruction doesn't have is a safety switch.

By negatonically enhancing the mechanical energy in his legs, John can mentally cause himself to move at super human speeds. This however causes an intense overextension of the negatons, and can only be used for certain short, durations of time before completely causing relapse

Other abilities

Through intense military and hero corps training, John is in peak physical condition. He can hurdle over obstacles that others come up short, brushes off minor injuries with a 'pain is weakness leaving the body mentality', and can bounce back from fatigue with a quickness. The only thing more impressive then his physical condition is his leadership capabilities. A natural leader, any situation would seem like childs play for his sense of combat; always thinking steps ahead of the enemy. Through his military training and black ops reconassaince John has learned to blend into the environment, becoming a shadow in the dark, or a leaf in the woods. Other abilities include teleportation through device means.
