Jackie's Journal

January 26, 2005

Dear Journal,

Today we found out that a huge swarm of ghouls has been detected in the southern tunnels, and is apparently (very) slowly moving towards the base. What's worse is that our squad's been sent down that way to inform the main base of any signs of the ghoul swarm's speed increasing.

I gave my farewells to Cassandra and beautiful little Bella this evening. Daddy will be fine, darling.

January 27, 2005

Dear Journal,

We're currently setting out on our journey. These damn demountable turrets are heavy, and it's a struggle typing this with one hand, so bear with me.

We've each got about 200 kilos strung across our backs. There's 8 of us in total- Stevey, Eryn, Ol' Burnsie, Joey, the three Australians, Julia, Kevin and Tony, and myself. That makes for 1.6 tonnes... yeesh.

Anyway, should probably get up and keep on moving.

January 29, 2005

Dear Journal,

We've arrived at the base. It's essentially a dome-shaped chunk that was cut out of the concrete floor of the tunnel, flipped and hollowed out to make a spherical shelter. There's barely enough room for 7 people, which suits just fine, I suppose- someone needs to take watch, after all.

The damn Australians are constantly arguing- when will they stop!?

Anyways, looks like I'm on watch tonight...

Dear Journal,

Things are tedious and boring, so I'm just writing to say hi.

Uh, hi.

February 2, 2005

Dear Journal,

The ghouls have actually come into view now- it's incredible. The swarm stretches for as far as the eye can see. They really are moving very, very slow, at about 3 meters an hour. Everybody's alert, in case something happens.
