History

At the age of 12, Nathan Drake was the only survivor of a carbomb that killed his entire family, but he didn't escape it unscathed. Existing in a coma for just over 5 years as a disembodied Spirit of Vengeance with no memory of his true life, Night-Stranger was a powerful and decorated hero, if something of an enigma. This couldn't go on, as political forces deemed him a possible threat based on his great power, and the simple fact that nobody knew anything about him.

A mage associated with M.A.G.I. eventually discovered the sad truth after a lengthy investigation, and Nathan Drake was healed and restored to his body. After it became known to the authorities that he was a minor, his Security level was slashed two thirds, and Night-Stranger left his long standing team, The Sentinels, which only allowed adult members.

Founding the Young Sentinels as a training place for younger heroes and runaways kids with powers, Nathan spent years in this key role, but was killed by a "Soul Shattering" ritual curse meant to destroy him utterly by Rikti Magi and Priests, under the orders of U'kon G'rai during a raid on the Rikti Mothership in the War Zone.

After some major effort, and a stint trapped inside a Kheldian boy, Nathan was resurrected, but now powerless. He briefly attempted to retire from active adventuring. Naturally, he couldn't, and now has used his old high security level contacts to effectively 'start over', as Faris Brande, the Knight of Swords!

Other distinguishing features

Boyish good looks, germanic features, keeps his hair cut short.

Strength level

Well above Average. Possesses the strength, agility and endurance of a man in his early prime who engages in intensive regular exercise, at the olympic level as an athlete.

Known superhuman powers

None remaining. Previously known to heal rapidly through some mystic means, apparently once capable of changing at will into an "Astral State" with a physical component, that made him virtually indestructible due to highly regenerative properties, and inhumanly strong, developing years of experience in hand-to-hand combat.

Other abilities

Completed his education after awakening from a coma with a G.E.D. Has always had an extraordinarily strong force of will.

Possesses a keen, analytical mind and a grasp of tactics hard-won in countless past battles, both in war-time and simply as an adventuring super-hero. He really has "been there, and done it all", and although he won't act superior about it, it is clear in his manner that he knows what he's doing.

Limitations

His very brusque personality. He simply does not care what others think of him at times, so long as it doesn't interphere with his job. Coldly polite even at the best of times, he almost never shows his true, compassionate nature outwardly.

Something that no one else knows, and he keeps a secret; His past life as Nathan Drake, the Night-Stranger. He doesn't seek fame nor fortune, and doesn't particularly mind proving himself all over again, so long as he can continue to fight the good fight.

Paraphernalia

He wears a lightly armored costume, built with modern materials so as not to restrict movement, with a dark blue shoulder cape, a white moon cloak clasp and a blue mask about his face, to hide his identity. White one-way-view Glasses cover his eyes. He wears a Ring on a neckless around his neck at all times and beneath his costume when so suited. It was his great-grandmother's wedding ring, and the only keepsake he has left of his family.

Weapons/Arsenal

He wears a belt with his many weapons stored about his person, including his Sword, Dueling Dagger, Throwing Knives, and the one weapon he has allowed himself to keep from his old career, a Blackwand. Many other heroes keep them as souvenirs nowadays anyhow, so it doesn't risk his past identity.
