LightCatcher

Kree'Shu

  • Kree'Shu was born a Meylar.[1] In Meylar society she was to be part of a mated pair. Her role in Meylar society would have been to produce an offspring, and quite possibly die by the time she was 17 years old. She was always considered outside of the natural focus of Meylar. She was willed, and questioned things of why Meylar were the way they were. She drove the Saints and the Chieftans wild with her questions, and probed them for ancient history of where they had come from. It was wildly thought of the Meylar that they were not orginally from Navvren. She was the perfect host in the minds of the Meylar.

Light Storm

  • Light Storm was a Kheldian [2] that was being pursued by Nictus. Attempting to use their ability to drain a Kheldian of it's life force to aid them in living longer, she was mortally wounded and fell to Navvren's hostile surface. Kheldians only live to be 10 years old without being bonded, and Light Storm was very close to that age. She seemed to sense her time was over, but would never have suspected that it would have happened the way it did.

Nehru Meylar

  • Nehru Meylar, in the language of the Meylar means "Light of The Meylar". She is a personality that Kree'Shu created out of stress and fear after being forceably bonded with Light Storm. She has since become sentiant and a living being on her own. She has her own thought process, and while she hasn't spoke using Kree'Shu's body, her voice is still heard when LightCatcher speaks. She is not liked by Light Storm who feels she is a crutch that Kree'Shu leans upon and hides behind, and her existance keeps Light Storm and Kree'Shu from being fully bonded.

Biography

Kree'Shu was to be a mated pair when Light Storm crashed onto her planet in an attempt to escape the Nictus. Light years she traveled to put enough distance between herself and their ability to bleed her dry of her energy until she was nothing left. Light Storm was already 9 years old, most Kheldians only living to the age of 10 without being bonded. She crashed into Navvren's atmosphere during the night before the Sun Cycle was about to occur. To the Meylar who revered light, since it was rare on their planet, took this to be a sign from whatever gods there maybe for their people, and rushed to find where she had crashed. Seeing her as a shooting star, they quickly discovered from her broken speaking that she was a Kheldian, or "light creature" as the Meylar called them. She was badly burned and closed to death. One of the chieftans brought up the knowledge that once before, when the Meylar were dumped onto Navvren's hostile surface by the slave ships that had been their home for over 120 years, that one other Light Creature had come to bond with one of them. How it was done, they were still a little unsure but resolved to try. They just needed a willing host. They found it in Kree'Shu.
Kree'Shu was seen as somewhat of a bother. She was always vocal, very outspoken for a child and never seemed to quite fit in. The Chieftans and Saints say this as the perfect way of getting rid of her, so their society could go back to it's normal state of being. So they sent for her. They cleaned out the ritual chamber that was normally used to preform burials and strapped her to the table. Almost immediately she began to cry, not knowing what was going on, or what they planned to do to her. This was unlike her people, and she was afraid. Her fear increased as they brought a creature that was almost the same size as her and put it on the table next to her. She was screaming at this point, as they chanted. Slowly she saw the light ceature slowly merge into her body. Completely freaked out, she closed her eyes and cried. It was painful because of her resistance and fear, and was something she would never forget.
As her eyes opened, they glowed with an unnavvrenly light. The chieftans and Saints termed it a success. But when she opened her mouth to speak, they heard two distinct voices. "What have you done to me?... What... HAVE YOU DONE TO ME!?!" Rage consumed Kree'Shu and she broke her bonds, and blasted through the thin upper crust of the Nesting she had called home and with her small wings beating furiously, kept going until she was out of the atmosphere. There in outerspace she expected to not be able to breath and die. But she did not. Several changes occured when she was bonded. Her body, as she grew older began to fully develop. She was thicker and full rather than thin and willowy like her people. Having to support two entire beings, she had to be. She floated around space for some months until another ship found her. They brought her aboard and asked her where she was going. She opened her mouth unable to think of anywhere and Light Storm's voice answered for them both, "Earth." They outfitted her with proper attire, and asked where she was from. She would only shake her head and not speak. She spent Ten years on that ship. She was always asked her name, until finally she admitted she didn't have one. Kree'Shu didn't seem to fit, and Light Storm didn't wish to be found. So after thinking for some days, she finally answered, "LightCatcher is my name."
During that time, a new presence began to grow in their mind. Nehru Meylar is what Kree'Shu called her. It was what she was supposed to become after hearing from Light Storm what was supposed to happen when they bonded. Over time, Kree's fear, and inablity to come to terms with what had happened to her caused Nehru to grow and manifest herself more and more often. This caused Light Storm much worry. She had seen Kree'Shu's mind, and realized that she was an intelligent girl, with a keen and probing mind, but her fear was getting the better of her in so many ways that would cripple her further. And then they came to earth. Breaking into the atmosphere, LightCatcher followed Light Storm's directions and found Paragon City, Rhode Island. There were many of their kind there, she assured Kree. Many bonded who would explain to Kree what happened to her, and she would be able to finally come to terms with her fear.

Other Powers

Kree'Shu gained several new abilities that are not Meylar, nor are they necessarily Kheldian, but perhaps a mixture of both. Only two has she been able to name... more to come as she develops them.

  • Aura Sight; LightCatcher is able to see people's Aura's. She had noticed over the course of being bonded that certain people have aura's of a certain colour. In which case she can probably tell where you're from, or what you're about just by looking at you. (If your aura is complex rp wise, it is always good to let her know ahead of time.)

  • Gem Shard; A source of power that keeps LightCatcher going is the navy blue gemstone in her belt. It begins to glow when she's outmatched and allows her to transform into other forms.

Affilations

Having been accepted now as a member of the earthen group "The Palladium Sentry" [3] whose motto speaks to LightCatcher, as the person she wishes to become. She now helps them, because "We move, for all Mankind". She has come to find many of her kind within this organization and being part of it reminds her of being a full Meylar. Being part of a society, a collection, a Nesting, and makes her feel less homesick. When in the Sentry base of operations, she spends most of her time, perched on top of a wall in meditation.

Friends

  • The first being LightCatcher came into contact with was Lunaris, [4] for whom LightCatcher has developed a great respect and admiration for. Being a guardian, her sole duty is to keep people safe which sparks a feeling of pride in LightCatcher. She hopes to one day be part of something bigger than herself and follow in LightKeepers footsteps.

  • Matt King [5] was the first bonded that LightCatcher met, being referred to her by Lunaris. She has questioned him many times about various things and he has always given her an answer, although she's not always understood. She considers him a great friend to her, and was happy to be accepted on his Galactic Team, hoping this was her chance to become the great one she wanted to be to make Lunaris proud of her.

  • Valentina is also a bonded. She is from the earth country Russia, and her way of speaking is quite amazing to LightCatcher. She has become something of a font of answers when Matt King is unavailable. LightCatcher takes great joy in speaking to her new friend about various things that she would feel foolish asking Matt King or Lunaris and considers her very important.

  • When LightCatcher first came across Cade Lawson, she could see his aura a blazing yellow. Normally the colour for time and space travellers. Her friendship with Cade is quite undetermined. She sees in him the normally forgotten mated pair she was supposed to be bonded with if Light Storm had not come to her planet causing her pangs of regret and anger at times. She wishes for a support such as Lunaris has, but knows that being a bonded, she cannot. But she treasures Cade and all his kindness to her.
