The brooch allows communication between members of The Knights of Albion, as well as entrance to the "Ley Tunnels" which connect the physical world with their extra-dimensional base in The Lady's Castle.

A Lodestone Brooch may take on different appearances depending upon the wish and desire of the wearer. For example: Lord Britanic carries his in the shape of a silver celtic knot brooch with a black lodestone at its centre.
