Legends
On the world of Flora, legend has it, lives a woman who never misses; A fierce, beautiful warrior; A leader of stragglers and scroungers. The stories say she moves as quickly as you can blink, and will look into your thoughts and your dreams. Legend also states that this woman, though well-intentioned, is very dangerous. A woman to make your friend, rather than your enemy. They call her Lucy Love Letter. It is widely believed that this is not her real name... that Lucy is not the name she was born with... but she seems to take no issue with it. Lucy Love Letter: the woman of the dust.
Raven
There are many Scrounger factions on the world of Flora. Lucy is leader of one of the most prestigious of Scrounger Hordes, Raven. Raven earned its reputation from Lucy. She appeared in the desert one day and took the straggling scroungers beneath her wing. Together, like the bird they were named for, they followed other humans, and lived off their scraps. They took what they needed and found what they wanted. They fought the monsters that roamed the surface of the planet and taught themselves how to do well by each other.
They became brothers and sisters in arms.
Led by Lucy, Raven prospered where many other hordes vanished into obscurity. The kinship developed by the members of Raven is stronger than the blood of family. Never leave a man behind. Never give up. Never let the oppressive military and corporations crush you beneath their heavy heels.
Brief History of Raven
Approximately one year after Renaissance Day, a young woman showed up: scrawny, composed, quiet. She appeared in the dead of night, covered in dirt, guns drawn. There was something about the young woman's eyes that made Wingspan hesitate in the kill order. She immediately seemed to know how many of them were pointing weapons at her: from spots both hidden and visible. She called his bluff immediately, and put her own weapons down to raise her hands.
It was not long until Lucy Love Letter made her way not only into Raven, but into its inner circle.
It is rumoured that Lucy has a pet raven unaffected by the plague, but this is neither confirmed nor denied.
The Inner Circle located a heavily armoured military compound, rumoured to have been housing a multitude of supplies. Food, water, medicine, weapons, and fuel. Raven moved in at night. It was overcast and there was a giant dust storm. The scroungers moved in quietly, weapons drawn, and prepared to clear out the soldiers. Upon arrival, they quickly discovered that every man in the compound was slaughtered. This could only mean one thing: Hunters.
It is rumoured that Lucy somehow knew about the hunters before they got close. She begged Wingspan and the others to turn back, but the prospect of such a haul only encouraged them to risk their lives. Lucy begrudgingly accompanied them in, but was on guard the entire time. The moment they entered the compound to behold the scene before them, they were surrounded by hunters.
Anticipating the attack, Lucy was already moving. She quickly ran out of ammo, having filled the immediate hunters with lead, and had nothing but a sword and a knife.
The Inner Circle of Raven was not as quick to respond, and could not evacuate fast enough. The hunters wiped them out before they could blink.
Lucy Love Letter was the only survivor. She stood amid a pile of dead hunters and Raven. She claims to have no memory of what transpired after the hunters showed up.
Since that day, Lucy has been leading Raven. Unlike the original group, she geared Raven towards survival and incorporated scroungers of all types. Her strikes against military and Victus compounds are always planned, and she brings only the most skilled fighters. Her word is law.
Protocol
Since being made leader, Lucy has implemented a few common laws in Raven:
- Littlest members eat first, leadership eats last
- Lucy's word is law. She says run, you run
- You see a hunter when you're alone, you run
- You see an Evolved at any time, you run
- No man is left behind, unless it's Lucy and she says so
- Never linger in one place longer than three days
- Never trust another horde as far as you could throw them
- Never trust Vicus or the military
Love Letters
A Jill of All Trades, Lucy learned very early how to piece together effective and powerful weapons. Love Letters is another word for a bullet, and if anyone delivers Love Letters with the greatest of care, it is Lucy. She has a large collection of at least a couple dozen frankensteined pistols and shotguns. She takes anything she can get her hands on to create a powerful monster killing hand cannon.
In addition to her guns, Lucy uses any other weapon she can get her hands on. She strongly believes that if you focus too much on using one weapon, you may very well become helpless should you be disarmed. She is hardly helpless when unarmed, but always keeps at least two daggers, a sword, and her axe.
The axe is a sort of rite of passage. Not many people on the Floran world possess one. It is something given to you by your horde leader when you do something to prove your worth. Lucy had hers at a very young age, but never speaks of what she did to earn it.
OOC
Supergroup: Renaissance
Lucy is very different in battle compared to out of battle.
Lucy smokes, but only occasionally. Cigarettes are very rare on her world
In addition to cigarettes, there is also a huge shortage of alcohol, medicine, water, food, and clothing on her world. She treats the acquisition of such items as her highest priority
If someone is stupid in a mission, she has no problem telling them to smarten up. Don't take it personally OOC. If you can't be smart in a mission, you're going to be told off.
The air quality, gravity, and other physical aspects of Earth are vastly different than Floran. Lucy is still becoming accustomed to it.
Lucy is often seen sitting on the outskirts of the group, simply watching. She always seems to know what's going on, even when out of earshot
