"In darkness all that I can see, the frightened and the weak. They cling to the mistakes they've made, and forced under their filth. I will take from them their pain, and bring my will before the very men who fancy themselves gods. Have mercy on me."

Mari Onette offers a colorful, even friendly first impression. She can be shy, even aloof, or sociable and gabby depending on the condition of her mind at the moment. Always ever polite, her polished exterior hides a darkened, twisted world beneath.

Brief History

Mari Onette AKA Elsa Woodrow was once a respected nano technologist, riding on the tails of her father. Most of her theories involved medical applications and the fusing of man and machine. Her research however, was viewed by some as a high security risk, especially if it fell into the wrong hands. Thus, "The powers that be" discouraged any further funding for Elsa's projects.

Shuned and mocked, Elsa was left with no way to continue her research. She swore that mankind should not be denied the medical advances she could provide, and so resolved to continue her work by any means capable. She stooped to embezzling cash by almost any means she could, even petty theft, she felt, was worth it for the greater good.

Disaster almost certainly came because for all her intellect, Elsa was not street savvy. She intercepted a cash transfer from the Family, and was confronted by them soon there after. Her punishment was to be thrown in front of a moving bus. Elsa came away with her life, but not all her limbs. Her arms were badly mangled, and after blood flow failed to be restored, the arms were amputated.

Strikken with grief, Elsa's father constructed a new pair of arms for his wayward daughter. The arms were based on Elsa's theories and her fathers prototype robotics. Not long after her recovery, her father passed away from the cancer her had been hiding so well from the world.

This chain of events drove Elsa's mind to the breaking point, for her research was aimed at the eradication of cancer cells by nanites. If only she had been allowed to finish her experiments, he father and so many others might have been saved. Elsa erased her former identity, and re-created herself as Mari Onette.
