Masticate

Appearance
Personality
In contrast to what one might expect from a formerly blood-crazed and savage creature, the cure returned her to a state not much unlike herself prior to the transformation. Stoic, polite, and soft-spoken yet her words carry a weight to them.
Early Life
There is little in the public recording regarding the woman that would become the resistance member known as Masticate. There is much speculation regarding her origins, and nearly everyone that knows of "The Beast of Imperial City" has their own theories as to her identity. Anything ranging from an up-and-coming Praetor that Praetor Berry saw as a threat, and had dealt with (Given her particular hatred of Praetor Berry, some find this to be the likely one), a Praetorian Police Department Officer who discovered things she shouldn't have, a Syndicate spy that go caught, the list goes on. However, no one seems to know for certain (including herself), or if someone does, they aren't talking about it.

In actuality, Masticate was a Hamidon War veteran, and loyalist to Marcus Cole for a number of years by the name of Edith Shawe. Additionally, she offered her charisma and training to instruct Power Division's new recruits and prepare them for what she then perceived as the threat. Not a particularly special job, but someone had to do it. However, as time went on she noticed inconsistencies in the narrative that Marcus Cole was weaving and decided to speak up against him. This lead to her denouncing Cole and his methods, trying to find proof of corruption. However, such unrest was dealt with quickly by Powers Division, and rather then kill her, they thought turning her into a mindless weapon would be less wasteful. |

What is known is that at some point, she was subjected to experimentation by the Praetor of Science, Praetor Berry, and his staff (Like the rest of the Ghouls). Somewhere between her initial transformation and her capture by the Resistance, she had broken free of the Praetorian Biological Technology lab where she was being kept and fled into the undergrounds, forming a pack with other ghouls.

The Beast of Imperial City
Following an attempted sabotage mission, her squadron got surrounded by Praetorian Police Department officers. Having no choice, her and her squadron fought to the best of their abilities resulting in a few PPD deaths before they managed to escape. Due to her utilization of teeth and nails, speculation spread of a wild creature in the Resistance, just the sort of propaganda Cole needed to further demonize the Resistance. The Beast of Imperial City, with pictures of the clawed PPD corpses, and a few injured reporting a creature sounding like a ghoul made for sensational gossip and fear-mongering for the Praetors.
