Appearing from an Ouroboros portal from some time in the future, Mender Watt is clearly a man on a mission. Content to stand in the background and watch, the Mender’s current goals are a bit unclear. One thing that’s for sure, the Mender knows his way around our current time. You see, he’s been here before…

Mender Watt is a full fledged Mender in the time-traveling organization Ouroboros. As such, he’s been personally approved by Mender Silos, and completely entrusted with Ouroboros’ many secrets. Always on guard about revealing any details on the “coming storm,” Mender Watt doesn’t divulge much about his standing within the Ouroboros hierarchy. He rarely, if ever, touches about his relationship with the other Menders.

Mender Watt was accompanied into this time by four acolytes. Although they have not yet themselves earned the Mender title, the acolytes are completely devoted to both Ouroboros’ cause and Mender Watt’s own personal mission. The three young men and one young woman are the closest thing to “friends” Mender Watt seems to have.

The Mender speaks nothing of his personal life. Listening to him speak, it’s as if he has no family to speak of. Very perceptive people who are lucky enough to catch him with his gloves off will notice a wedding ring.

Personality

If the man had to be summed up in one word: driven. He seems completely committed to his cause, with very little use of anything else. His idea of how to best subvert the “coming storm” is a bit different that that of the other Menders. He’s taking the issue on personally.

He’s a very serious man. Although he can occasionally be seen smirking to himself or chuckling silently, he is for the most part all business. He takes no interest in the petty verbal squabbles and minor incidents of violence that occur around him, as this is all history to him.

Mender Watt seems completely indifferent to the plight of most people in our time, but he has a small amount of what could be described as pity for the heroes of Paragon. Having been a hero in his youth, the Mender is all too familiar with the mental and physical tolls the job takes on a person. His creed would be akin to: “get out while you still can.”

Powers

Long ago, while in his mid-twenties, Patrick Cassidy was granted electrical abilities. At sixty-five, those powers have faded significantly. Although he can still generate electrical bursts, he is nowhere near the powerhouse he was in his youth.

The one power that has not faded is his ability to teleport. Mender Watt can still transport himself from one point to another with a mere thought.

Abilities

Perception. Mender Watt spent years as a Paragon hero. Through simple life experience he has become very good at connecting the dots of the world around him. Although his raw power is not what it used to be, his mind is perhaps sharper than ever.

Charisma. The Mender can talk, and talk well.

Entrusted with the secret. Although it’s still unclear exactly what’s going on with the shadowy time-travel group Ouroboros, Mender Watt has been exposed to their wide range of secrets. This gives him an edge over people who are “left in the dark.”

Weaknesses and Limitations

Physical age. Let’s face it, even with electrical powers and Ouroboros’ own means of counter-aging, the man is still sixty-five. Although undeniably in shape for his age, he is still a prisoner to his own limitations.

Fading powers. Long ago, the hero Sixty Watt blazed electrical trails around Paragon City. Today, Mender Watt can hold his own against a few thugs with his electrical powers, but it leaves him exhausted afterward.

Entrusted with the secret. Both a pro and a con, Mender Watt’s own knowledge is his heaviest burden. The secrets guarded by Ouroboros have changed him forever.

Equipment

The Mender’s biggest asset is his laser-sight bow. He keeps a number of extremely useful trick arrows on him for various occasions. Although these arrows offer very little in the way of offense, they give the Mender (or his teammates) a significant advantage in battle.

He also carries a small computer with him. An Ouroboros database, Mender Watt uses it as a make-shift history book. It keeps him updated on the happenings around him.

Trivia

- For those who haven’t figured it out, Mender Watt is Sixty Watt from the future. Sixty Watt has no idea the Mender is in our time, and Mender Watt plans on keeping him in the dark.
