Midnight Girl is a dimensional alternate of Night-Girl from Praetorian Earth, and is conceptually the opposite of her counterpart in certain ways. For example, though their powers both come from the same source, Midnight Girl uses energy from the "light side" of the moon offensively, while Night-Girl uses it defensively.

She was created purely out of a desire to have a single Praetorian character, long before Going Rogue allowed us to make official ones.

Supergroup: League of Evil

Personality

Midnight Girl is moody, with her moods ranging from somewhat friendly to irritable depending on the phase of the Moon (the darker it is, the friendlier she is). This behavioral trait is not present in her mainstream alternate, Night-Girl, so it is probably psychological in nature.

Powers

Midnight Girl's powers stem from a mystical attachment to the Moon. This gives her a variety of abilities:

Negative Energy Manipulation

Midnight Girl possesses the ability to manipulate negative energy in multiple ways. This ability is due to her ability to harness energy from the "dark side" of the Moon.

This is clearly magical in nature, as it makes no scientific sense whatsoever.

Lunar Radiation Expulsion

Midnight Girl is capable of expelling concentrated Lunar radiation from her eyes and hands, as well as her entire body in a less controlled manner.

This, again, makes no sense.

Flight

Midnight Girl can amplify the effect of the Moon's gravity upon her relative to the Earth's gravity, enabling low-speed flight of around 50 to 60 mph.

Abilities

General Magical Knowledge

Coming from a family with a history of magical ties, Midnight Girl was heavily educated in the mystic arts. Unlike Night-Girl, she didn't get attached to any one branch, and as a result, has a large amount of general knowledge about magic and its history. Some of this is inaccurate, as she does come from an alternate dimension.

Weaknesses and Limitations

Overconfidence

Midnight Girl is extremely brash, and this is often the cause of her defeat by the forces of justice.

Character History

Midnight Girl is originally from Praetorian Earth, and found her way here while examining an ancient artifact that she later realized was a mystical bridge between worlds. Seeing that this world was far less trying than Tyrant's, and therefore filled with weaklings, she decided to stay, believing that it would be an easier place for her to gain power.

In her family line, women are the dominant gender, and direct decendants (mothers and their daughters) share a spiritual bond-- a sort of innate compass that can lead them to each other across great distances. It is tradition in her family for mothers and daughters to sever this bond once the daughter is believed to have reached her full potential in power. This is done through a fight to the death. Upon defeat, the victor absorbs the spiritual strength of the loser.

Midnight Girl has not yet faced her mother in this rite of passage, despite reaching her full potential. Upon her arrival on this plane, she shattered the artifact that brought her here to reduce the chances of it being necessary. It can be assumed that she considers her mother a great threat, but she has never said a word about her.

Shortly after arrival, she met Turiacus of the League of Evil, who asked her to join the team. She accepted, believing that a slice of a larger pie often turns out to be worth more than the whole of a lesser one.

In late November of 2007, Midnight Girl was made aware of the possibility that her mother might be coming to this dimension. In response, she concocted a plan to attempt to gain enough power to defeat her in the inevitable confrontation, involving Blackslash and Night-Girl.
