Background
History
While serving as an electrician in the Navy, John developed the ability to discharge the built-up electricity at specific targets from being shocked so many times by 110v and 440v power sources. After serving 6 years in the Navy and not seeking to stay in the military due to his high weight, John Turner left the military and decided to travel across the United States in a beat up old Civic and see the land. While looking through some old ruins in the southwest desert, John was ambushed and kidnapped by a fringe group of the Circle of Thorns.
The Deal is Done
Having severed all ties to his family while in the service, the Thorns figured he would make a suitable sacrifice. During the ceremony the spirit was summoned, but before they were bound together a deal was made. The spirit would offer more power to John in exchange for escape from the Circle now and a vessel later. Having little options, John agreed.
After escaping, the spirit told him that he would give John an ideal body as a bonus for his good work against the Thorns and as a future investment. When Turner asked about this future investment, the spirit stated the vessel would be John's own body. The spirit continued on to say that John would receive more of its power as he himself grew stronger. This power transfer would also help ease the transition.
Always East
Not liking the terms of his contract, John has attempted to seek out the experts at MAGI at their home office in Paragon City and ask for their help. Until he can find the leverage needed to renegotiate his contract, John has taken up residence in Paragon and will use this dark spirit's powers as well as his own to help people.
John has recently come to terms with his increasing alcoholism and has spend the last few months in AA and MAGI's library. While this has upset his demonic personality, it is coming around to a more human way of thinking.

Profile
John is for once driven in his life by a personal goal. As such he doesn't know what to do with both his new found powers and in such a strange city, he feels out of place and backed into a corner. Having been out of the service for a year he's lost his edge and fighting spirit he once had. Being a Navy man, John deals with his problems in the old fashioned way; ignoring them and/or crawling into a bottle. He finds himself doing more of the latter as he is unable to do the former in his current situation. While this may seem like a liability, John has enough control to not let it effect his work by only drinking during his off time.
While staying in King's Row for the past couple of months, John hasn't made too many friends. He is currently working with a few random people but he is still an outsider in Paragon. He finds he is spending more and more time in Pocket D and drinking his life away and becoming very self destructive.
