Character History

Alexis Cross was just a normal nurse at the Chiron Medical Center in Atlas Park who's job was to help newer heroes recover after a trip through the emergency teleporter. She enjoyed her job a lot and met a lot of interesting heroes. However things changed when one day a Troll from the Hollows was accidentally transported with a hero while they were trying to stop a Superadine production facility. Alex fought with the Troll to protect the fallen hero, but during the struggle the Superadine vials the Troll was carrying broke and splashed in Alex's eyes. She managed to subdue the Troll, but at the cost of her eyesight, the vials with raw Superadine chemicals had left her blind.

Depressed that her career as a nurse was practically over, Alex was later shocked to find out that she could see perfectly in the dark. She later learned about a few heroes who had gone through a similar circumstance and decided to follow their footsteps. Using special goggles and glasses that help her see in the light she set out to help out the heroes of Paragon City in a new way.

Alex first assisted the GGA when she answered a distress call for anyone with medical training to respond to the Greylock Building. Alex assisted nursing several GGA members back to health when a team, lead by Cryofox, sustained injuries while looking for their missing friends in another dimension due to the Game Keeper's trickery. Alex then began assisting the GGA as a part-time member, turning down the initial attempt to join because she believed she wasn't good enough for the GGA.

Alex went on to assist the GGA and their allies in several cases such as; helping Lady America recover from the reemergence of the Infinity Serum during her first appearance in Paragon, assisting the The Sentinels of Liberty (now United Sentinels of America) during their fight against Uberfrau, and assisting with the capture of the renegade Obsidian Bowman.

After serving as a part-time member and medical technician for the GGA for several months, Alex was then presented a YGA communicator once again by Terratonic. Feeling as if she finally earned the right to finally join the the ranks of the GGA, Alex joined the YGA as a full-time member.

Nurse Midnight possesses the normal level of strength appropriate for a girl her age, height, weight, and build that engages in physical activity.

Dark Sight

Ever since her accident, Nurse Midnight has had the ability to see clearly in darkness.

Abilities

Nurse Midnight is a fully trained nurse with extensive medical knowledge. She is also an expert at research & analysis, brown belt in Judo, has a background in gymnastics & dance, and possesses excellent general athletic abilities and archery skills. She also possesses an above average sense of smell and hearing due to her blindness.

Weaknesses and Limitations

While being able to see perfectly in the dark, without the use of specialized glasses/goggles Nurse Midnight is blind in normal daylight conditions.

Equipment

While on patrol Nurse Midnight uses a Bow and specialized trick arrows to help her fight crime.

Goggles and Glasses

Nurse Midnight uses a pair of special goggles that allow her to see during the daylight, she also has a pair of glasses that are made of the same property.

Midnight Bomb

A specialized smoke pellets nicknamed "Midnight Bomb". These pellets can envelop a small area in total darkness.

Utility Belt

Nurse Midnight's belt can contain a wide array of equipment including grappling hooks, knockout gas capsules, throwing tracers, rebreather as protection against any airborne noncontact toxins, a mini-computer equipped with fax, modem, GPS, a minidisk rewritable drive, lock picks, a first aid kit, her iPhone, flexi-cuffs, antitoxin assortment, signal flares, and a wireless listening device.

Costumes

Nurse Midnight's costume is made of a version of the Nomex fire-resistant, triple-weave Kevlar-lined material that serves as an excellent protection against several types of damage.
