History

In 1213, a small city was being held captive by a group of wizards. The city's ruling council covertly sent out a call for heroes and were actually shocked when fourteen men came together and defeated the wizards. Each of these men had varying talents, but each of them held virtue as a strength. These fourteen men found in each other companionship through the hard work of defeating the society of wizards, and later that year formed the Order of the Blue Crescent, the symbol used by those same wizards.

The men elected a council of four with a chief councilman at its head. The rest became commanders, each of whom sought out and recruited others like themselves, warriors of valor, sorcerers of virtue, all knights in their own right.

Over centuries the small group became thousands, spread across Europe, West Asia, and Northern Africa. Kings paid them to take on tasks mere soldiers could not. Villages plead for their help in matters the town watch could not resolve.

It was a small band of mages, however, that finally put an end to the Order. Every councilman, councilwoman, and commander was imprisoned in a soulstone; those not imprisoned were sought out and destroyed. Demons, spirits, monstrous beasts, and other beings that seemed to be nightmares brought to life slaughtered the remnants of the Order.

But then the mages fell silent. Even now, no one knows who they were, where they came from, or why they slaughtered the Order. No one knows where they went, or why they stopped after just defeating the order.

Often regarded as a myth, both the Order and the mages who defeated them have more or less become forgotten by history. But this is soon to change.

Recent History

The hero Moonblood, while on a mission deep into the ruins of Oranbega, recovered several soulstones. One of them contained the spirit of a councilman who asked Moonblood to renew the strength of the fallen Order. Moonblood registered the Order of the Blue Crescent as an official group moments after delivering the last of the soulstones he found to MAGI. After a stint in United Paragon, Moonblood resumed leadership of the Order in an attempt to revive it.
