Childhood History

Felicia Paxil Zap, and her twin sister, Meghan Celexa Zap were born to pharmacologists, Arthur and Gertrude McKinley Zap, who worked in the are of antidepressant research. During their tenure at various pharmaceutical companies, they had been exposed to many differe chemicals and processes that were supposedly "safe", but altered their genetics. Pax and Lexi, as they were called, were born oddities, 10 years before the "Nuclear 90", Felicia and Celexa were born with extremely strange physiology. Besides their purple skin, their hearts were self-contained nuclear fusion reactors, while their digestive tract took particles from various types of food, and converted them to their invidual elements and split their atoms for energy. Their bodies could withstand and shield the rest of the world from the radiation, which they seem to have been able to expel voluntarily via their bodies if needed or wanted. Not only that, but that also seemed to have control over gates to an alternate dimension called "Darkforce", and could manipulate materials drawn from this dimension.

After an accident with a babysitter contracting radiation poisoning, as it seems their parents were immune to their radiation emissions, they contacted a famous hero in New York City, Red Fox. 4 years later, after exposure to Gertrude and her children, her sister-in-law, Mary-Beth Murphy McKinley gave birth to another little girl who could manipulate radiation, but without the strange physiology. This young girl, Kelley Murphy McKinley (see Spectral Reactor), Pax and Lexi's cousin, was also taken under Red Fox's wing, and trained with them to become part of the young hero team "The Children's Crusade", where the Twins and their cousin made up the nucleus of the team.

Teen Years

Pax, Lexi, and Kelley and their teammates in the Children's Crusade enjoyed a modicum of notoriety in New York City before the Rikti War. They apprehended many criminals and helped many other super-teams in the Northeast, including an early incarnation of The Vindicators. At one point, Pax and Lexi had so much notoriety that they were asked to be "hero ambassadors" to other countries young heroes, including Great Britain.

When Pax was about 17, Red Fox came onto her in the girl's locker room at their base. She politely turned him down, and to her surprise he didn't stop his advances. Over the next few weeks, she became more and more uncomfortable with his advances towards her, but her sister, Lexi told her to "chill out", after all "he'd done for them". Pax wouldn;t find out until years later that Lexi had indeed slept with Red Fox, and had a crush on him.

After a few weeks of Pax turning him down, he got impatient, and attacked her, took her by surprise, dampened her powers, and sexually assaulted her, leaving her crying and in shock. She got up and went home, and told her sister, and Celexa again, wouldn't listen to her, and didn;t believe her idol would do something like that. Pax took off towards his apartment in Manhattan to make sure he never did it to any other young woman ever again, and lost control of the radiation emission of her powers. She meant to sterilize him permanantly and castrate him, but he ended up dying of radiation poisoning overnight in the hospital.

Pax, scared, ran towards New England, and tried to cross over Connecticut and Rhode Island toward a country that she knew she might be able to escape to, called the Etoile Islands (aka The Rogue Islands).

While flying over Rhode Island, her sister, Lexi, had alerted some of her friends in the Vindicators, including Ms. Liberty, who took Pax down hard, and apprehended her.

Trial and Conviction

Pax was then held in Paragon City, Rhode Island, where she would get a fair trial, as in New York, the notoriety of the case, and Red Fox's fame was not to her advantage. While many possiblities were considered, she was still convincted of involuntary manslaughter, and sentenced to 15 years in the "Ziggurat", the name for the Powered Wing if the Zigursky Maximum Security Federal Penitentiary.

Prison Years

The Warden of the Ziggurat, Mason Stursky, was not a nice man, and started using "exotic" prisoners to build himself a small ring of prisoners who would be prostitutes for him, in return for a clean cell, some minor amenities, such as blankets, toilets, and such. Pax was forced into this ring of prostitutes because of the purple hue of her skin, and her unique physiology. She turned out to be one of the more popular girls he was "selling". Because of this, she was able to "volunteer" in order to keep a girl who came in in her 6th year, that she saw was very scared and obviously innocent, out of his clutches. She went willingly, as long as the new prisoner, Violet Blaize, was left alone.

Pax and Vi, became close, and she nickname Vi "Phoenix" because she told her that soon, she would "rise again" from the askes of her life to find out who hasd killed her family. In the meantime, Pax would protect her best as best as she could.

During this time, the Warden put them together in the same cell, when Pax was not servicing various "heroes" as a prostitute for the warden. In the time where Pax and Vi spent with each other, they fell deeply in love.

A young criminal, Stacy Kinsey, who was also a witch, who had hidden her powers, made Pax an offer in exchange for her protection. She would break the Bond of Twins linking Pax and Lexi, and relocate it to Vi. Pax undertook this, and now Vi and Pax are as close as twin sisters, and can feel each other's feelings and know each other better than any other partners would.

Their luck was changing, but they had no clue how much it was going to change until Arachnos literally showed up at their doorstep.

Breakout!

Initiated by Kalinda, Arachnos undertook a prison break to break out various superpowered and skilled convicts that seemed to ensure Arachnos' victory over the heroes in the United States. Both Pax and Vi were tagged by Kalinda to be important to Operation: Destiny. They were to be tested, and if they survived, used in the battle against Statesman and his Freedom Phalanx.

Pax and Phoenix Blaize as she was now called, knew a good thing when they saw it, but knew they had to maintain their independence, while accomplishing the goals they set out for themselves in prison. Pax studied 2nd wave feminism, and started to believe that men needed to be eradicated from the planet, and Blaize still needed to find out who murdered her family, the crime she was framed for.

They made their way from the testing grounds on Mercy Island, to Port Oakes, where Pax and Blaize set up base with a series of young women, including Lady Blackfire, who believed as Pax did.... that women needed to rule the world. They called themselves "The Sapphite League" and proceeded to recruit and indoctrinate young women to their way of thinking, while biding their time to break away from Arachnos and Lord Recluse

Sapphite League

Pax spent several years in the Isles, working with the League to kill every man she came across. She became powerful in her own right, and drew the attention of Kalinda, Ghost Widow, and Lord Recluse himself. While the League became less violent towards men, and their philosophy started to soften to the subjugation of men, instead of gendercide. Over time, the Sapphites became a 'bodyguard' of sorts, for the only female member of Lord Recluse's inner circle, Ghost Widow. During this time, she made it clear to Recluse that she would not be manipulated for his goals, but that she had her own goals, and her allegiance was toward Ghost Widow and not him.

Pardon and Vindication

After a near suicide run on taking out the Freedom Phalanx, she drew more attention from the branch of the CIA known as Omega Watch.

Offered a chance to earn a pardon, Paxil and Blaize were asked to rescue the President of the United States from the Center in a Council Base. Evidently, the plan was to merge a Nictus with the President, and take him over from within, therefore taking over the country. Pax and Blaize were captured, but found themselves next to 2 dying Warshade Nicti. The Nicti offered to merge with them to help prevent the Center's plan from coming to fruition. Pax and Blaize accepted the merge, and became Warshades, and completed their mission and earned their Pardons.

Sapphite Institute

Pax and Vi founded the Sapphite Institute as a school for super-powered wome in New Bedford, Massachusetts, not too far from Paragon City, to study the phenomenon of power proliferation just before and after the Rikti War, and to provide graduate school education to the new generation of powered individuals. Pax also recruited her operatives to address threats from this pool of students.

Powers

EVERLASTING UNIVERSE

Paxil was born in 1974, as Felicia Zap, along with her twin sister, Joy Zap in Ridgewood NJ. Her parents were pharmacologists and researchers who worked for two different pharma companies. Her and her sister developed their mutant powers (the ability to manipulate energy on subatomic particles and their antiparticles) at the age of 12. Their teenage years were spent as part of a super team named the “Children’s Crusade” made up of her, her sister, and several other heroes, including their cousin Meghan Murphy-McKinley 9see Hippy Blacklight). At that time, Felicia and Joy were known as “Positive Zap and Negative Zap”. The team was led by an adult hero well known in the New York City area, Red Fox. By the time Felicia and Joy were in their 20’s, their parents jokingly called them Paxil and Celexa, after drugs they helped invent, and the fact they seemed to have very light and pleasant personalities that seemed to actually improve the mood of everyone around them.

Things changed in 1997 when Joy (aka “Lexi”) was killed on a raid against a group of Trolls trafficking in Superadine in Newark, NJ. Pax became a shadow of her former self, and a little unstable. In 2000,It came out that Meg had been raped by Red Fox when she was 16 and Paxil murdered him in cold blood. She was tried and convicted, and sentenced to the Ziggurat, where in 2005, she was broken out by Kalinda, a fortunata seer at the behest by Ghost Widow.

Paxil served Ghost Widow faithfully, and fell in love with her, despite a physical connection never being truly possible with a ghost. She formed The Sapphite League in 2006 in order to elevate Ghost Widow to the position she thought her Mistress should be elevated to, nothing but the true leader of Arachnos. Ghost Widow was fond of her, and treated her well, a relationship that continues to the present day. During this time, Paxil tracked down the child produced from the rape, and was given up for adoption. Turns out “he: was raised on Sharkshead Isle, but Meg made her promise not to approach. However, shortly after the child ran away from home and began living as a girl on the streets of Sharkshead, staying with various miners and providing companionship (see Tess LaCoell)

In 2007, The President of the United States was kidnapped by the Council in an attempt to take over the US by installing a Nictus leader. The FBSA had been watching Pax for an attempt to get her to defect, after all, an Arachnos Arbiter would be a tasty defector indeed, especially one so close to a Patron. They threatened to expose Tess, and potentially harm her if Pax did not betray Ghost Widow, and run what was essentially a suicide mission into a Council base. It was nearly one, and she was captured, tortured and left for dead, but a Warshade (see Shadowrender) on the same mission, whose body was killed and was nearly dead, merged with her. She managed to escape, but not before completing their mission, which earned Pax a pardon and expungement of her record. Pax convinced Ghost Widow to pull strings to get her adopted daughter, Tull, the daughter of two of her closest friends who were killed, released from Arachnos service as a last favor.

Pax and Meg reunited and started a school, The Sapphite Institute in New Bedford, Massachusetts, not too far from Paragon City, to study the phenomenon of power proliferation just before and after the Rikti War, and to provide graduate school education to the new generation of powered individuals. Pax also recruits her operatives to address threats from this pool of students.
