History

Abigail McCormick was born into an upper class family in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Her father, Shane McCormick is the acting CEO in McCormick minerals. This is a company started by her Great Grandfather. The company started out as a coal mining company until her father took the reigns at a young age. McCormick minerals now have a strong foothold in the trade of diamond, gold and other valuable minerals.

As an only child, Abby had everything handed to her on a silver platter. Though raised by her parents, her strongest bond was with her grandmother Eireen. Her grandmother who married into the family had a strong sense of other individuals that are less fortunate and who are the back bone of society. The greatest lesson she taught Abby was that no person is better than another. Prestige was just a title. Money was just an item. Many people leave happy and full lives by living to their potential and doing what they believe is the right thing for not just them, but for their family and community.

Abby never forgot the lessons she was taught by her grandmother though it was harder than it seemed. She lived in an upper class area where people often looked down on others without material possessions. To her they were self centered, selfish individuals who only lived inside their own bubble. Abby bit her tongue though and put up with the behavior while treating everyone like human beings and secretly volunteering in lesser areas of Connecticut. She often defied her parents by not following what they believe were the norms. She even defied the legacy spot that was for her at Binghamton to attend Boston College to be around a more diverse group of people.

It was here that Abby went through a life changing altercation. It was her 21st birthday and some friends from back home came to the city to celebrate with her. They took her to upscale part of Boston, a place where she never had any interest to be in. Outside of a bar she heard what seemed to be a bit of a scuffle between a man and a woman in an alley. To her surprise it seemed like many people just ignored it and went along on their business, even her friends. She decided to look into it herself despite her friends response to ignore a “locals” problem. She saw a female who seemed to be an employee from the bar they just came out of being harassed by a drunken scruffy looking guy. It seemed that she was familiar with him. An ex boyfriend of something. He was being physical with her and Abby knew she had to do something. She noticed a broken pool stick discarded in the alley, picked it up and whacked him over the head. As the man fell, the girl looked up with a surprise look in her face. Abby told her to run and she did.

As she watched her run out of the alley, the man Abby just struck stumbled to his feet. The scruffy man grabbed Abby’s arm hard and pushed her up against the wall. He started to yell and curse, not skipping a beat from before Abby interfered. It looked like things could turn ugly and Abby began to yell for help, but like before no bothered to come. Like the previous girl her on voice was being ignored, not even her friends come. What seemed like an eternity, but was actually a few minutes passed when the side door of the bar swung open. A large man in an apron followed by three or so smaller men came storming out. The scruffy man quickly released Abby and stumbled away. Still in a slight state of shock, Abby looked over to her rescuers in order to thank her. She noticed a fifth person in the rear which almost brought her to tears. It was the girl form before, the one she told run away. She did flee, but to her kitchen coworkers and told them that a girl is outside who may need help.

The police came; everyone shared their story, and even Abby’s friends showed signs of concern (when they finally realized what was going on). None of that mattered. Abby only wanted one thing. She went over to the female and thanked her from the bottom of her heart. The girl responded “You came to help me when no one heard my voice. I just returned the favor.” That’s all it took. Abby had a resolution that day. She would do everything in her power to help the voices of those in danger. No one person is greater than anyone else she felt. She decided to become a hero, but Abby knew it wouldn’t be easy. She wasn’t a hero…yet.

“As long as I can move my body, no voice will ever go unheard as long as I am around.”

Other distinguishing features

None.

Strength level

Average for an athletic young woman.

Known superhuman powers

None.

Other abilities

Extremely skilled Archer. This is what she uses to fight crime. Abby doesn’t have any abnormal abilities, but this is the best way for her to contribute to the cause. Abby is also a clever inventor and designed specialized arrows or “Tricks” she uses in her arsenal. Of course everything is non lethal. She also has 4 years worth of Intense Gymnastics to increase her agility and 2 years of Jujitsu for self defense.

Limitations

As a normal human, Abby knows the limits are much stricter on her than others. At times it can be intimidating in a city full of heroes and villains with meta human abilities. The thought she has of just being normal pushes herself harder to keep up. In the early stages of her heroism, forcing herself to do more than she should caused her trouble with injuries and failures on cases. Abby has realized that she can’t do everything and provides the roles she is capable of. Unfortunately this has caused self doubt at times on her part wondering if she really belongs.

Paraphernalia

The only thing special about her costume is the belt. Abby was able to acquire a prototype self flight device from the Sky Raiders on a past venture to Striga Isle. She used the technology and incorporated into a belt buckle and created a custom belt she carries gadgets in. Recently, while tinkering with her EMP arrow she developed new inventions that could assist her. First using positively charged electrons that flow around her gloves and can be used in emergency close quarters combat. Secondly, using those same electrons and creating an electric polarized field around her body powered by a device on the back of her belt.

Weapons/Arsenal

Abby’s main weapon is her bow. The bow is significant to her as it was a gift from her grandmother as she developed a liking to the sport of archery. At the boarding school that her mother and grandmother attended, Abby developed her love for archery. For the next 11 years she honed her skills in sport and competition. Besides the arrows she uses for disarming and taking down foes, Abby used intelligence to develop arrows that can be most useful in any given situation. She calls these arrows “Tricks”. Some of these tricks consists of an arrow that causes a bright, blinding flash, and arrow that uses high pitch sound to disrupt enemy concentration, and even an arrow that can interfere with synapses in the brain by releasing an electric current. Now as a member of the Gods, Abby is better equipped to make her tricks in the work room of the Greylock building.
