Bloodline

Jean-Luc is a descendent of the Homo magi, a sub-race of humans born with innate powers of sorcery. The Homo magi originated on the lost continent of Atlantis and evolved in a parallel but separate line, alongside Homo sapiens. The continent was a focal point for unharnessed magical energies (wild magic), and the local Homo sapiens evolved into Homo sapiens magi as a result of their exposure to these energies.

Those humans who gained these nascent mystic abilities interbred for thousands of years, concentrating and strengthening the genetic predisposition. Upon the fall of Atlantis, people who carried the predisposition scattered to the four winds. Today, every human being capable of casting spells with no training or outside influences is a descendant of the Homo magi.

Showmanship

Jean-Luc's abilities manifested in his early teens, coming and going for weeks at a time. He practiced nonetheless, initially only able to perform simple tricks such as summoning simple objects into existence, and transmogrifying one object into another. Currently, Luc is able to use his powers to heal minor wounds, transmogrify and conjure objects, manipulate any of the four elements; wind, fire, earth, or water.

Jean-Luc is a skilled illusionist and stage magician even without resorting to his innate magical powers. He is also a master thief and pickpocket.

Luc has been known to try and talk his way out of most fights, preferring to buy time to set up a plan and obtain an advantage. He can be very sneaky, observant and patient when given the opportunity and does not mind looking weak, afraid, trapped, or hesitant to allow his foes to underestimate him.

Luc is also an expert gambler and weighs the risks based on what there is to be gained or lost. He lives for the excitement and thrill of the game, the adrenaline rush, and loves the company of interesting women.
