Before "Pyromania"

Sapphire and Amethyst Moore were born February 24,1997 to a perfectly normal family of five. Two older brothers, Brian(9) and Richard(13) and a older sister, Samantha(7). Their mother was a nurse at the local hospital and their father was a well known mechanic. As the twins got older it have become obvious that Sapphire would always be the shadow of Amethyst. By the time the girls were in kindergarten, Amethyst could play the violin and piano extraordinarily well while Sapphire could barely talk (or at least she made it seem that way due to her quiet nature). Amethyst was a budding star, she was friends with everyone in her class and she was the first one to be able to count to one hundred and say her ABC’s. While Sapphire on the other hand remained silent never showing anyone her true intelligence. It wasn’t until the second grade that Sapphire finally got her first friend. By the sixth grade Amethyst had gotten perfect attendance, honor roll, and every other reward that could be presented to a elementary student whenever possible. Sapphire, however, had gotten suspended sixteen times and got into twenty five fights. On Samantha’s eighteenth birthday, the girls parents decided to take the entire family to a nearby water park. The trip was meant to be a time to spend time together as a family. Unfortunately, while the boys did cannon balls into a pool and her sisters and mother sunbathed, sapphire decided to look around on her own, little did she know a creepy old man was watching her. The moment sapphire got out of view of most of the people enjoying their time at the water park, he took his chance to knock her out taking her back to his van before having his way with the unconscious girl. When Sapphire had finally woke up, she was chained to a bed wearing skimpy clothing. She was terrified, and for the next six months terror slowly changed to anger. She was put in a small, dark metal box whenever the man was finished with her. Finally, she was saved. The man was given life in the zig and Sapphire was returned home completely traumatized. With only three months until the twins thirteenth birthday, their mother did everything possible to soothe her daughter. On the day of their birthday, Sapphire caught Amethyst making out with Jason (Sapphires boyfriend since the beginning of the sixth grade). Enraged Sapphire made Jason leave, but before she could do anything to Amethyst, their mother had called them to blow out the candles. Sapphire remained silent as they walked to the kitchen. When Sapphire stood in front of the cake, Amethyst pushed her out of the way making her fall on to the floor. In a fit of rage Sapphire stood back up, fists clenched screaming at her sister “I’m tired of this! I’m quiet because you want me to be! Whenever you do something wrong I take the blame, making you look like the good child! Well you want to know what I want for my birthday?! I want you to burn!” then Sapphire blew out the enlarged flames making the fire spread and grow. The fire quickly engulfed the house and her family, Sapphire seemed to be the only survivor. When the police arrived, they blamed Sapphire, taking her to juvenile hall. After a week she had broken out and for the next eleven months she was in and out never caring that they threatened to take her to the zig. Finally, on her last escape, Sapphire went to the Perez Park to burn it to the ground. It was one of the few places her cheating ex-boyfriend loved, and she wanted to take it away from him. Luckily for her, in more ways then she knew at the time, a hero called Heat Spark found her, giving her a choice, go to the zig or become his student. Not wanting to go to the zig she took him as her mentor and Pyromania was born…

Current life

Sapphire now works hard to control her anger through meditation and other stress relieving exercises. She attends Brickstown High (she is a freshman) and thanks to the training of her mentor now has enough control of her powers to be on the fire twirling team. Sapphire is the girlfriend of Greg, who has stuck with her through thick and thin. Sapphire is a gambler who never loses (by gambler I mean a hustler who knows how to trick people). Her life is great now, she is finally coming out of the shell her sister built around sapphire her entire life and she has a loving boyfriend and caring mentor. Sadly, she fears she is going to lose her mentor to the corruption of the black fire, and believes it is up to her and his girlfriend to save him from himself. On top of this, Amethyst, her twin sister is alive (without her or anyone else from their past knowledge) thanks to a gift both girls have called the phoenix’s touch, however, it won’t be long before the girls re-meet due to the fact that Amethyst is captain of the Steel Canyon high school fire twirling team. Sooner or later the two teams will one day compete against each other, and when that day comes old anger is sure to be rekindled…
