Background
Malcom Smith hadn't really been a cruel or selfish person before the accident. He'd always been a polite, if quiet, young man.
A PhD student in nuclear physics he had been selected to help a research project at the Terra Volta plant. If things had been on the up-and-up, he would have gotten his doctorate and moved on to a normal life.
But they weren't, and he didn't. The professor running the experiments had his own agenda with illegal reseach on the side, and when one of these tests went wrong, Malcolm was caught in the blast.
He awoke days later, possessing incredible powers, and at first tried to go back to his life. Soon, however, he began to discover evidence of the professor's activities, and he set himself on revenge.
Morality and ethics were soon left behind as Malcolm pursued his quarry, eventually finding and executing him. Fleeing the law, he has come to the Rogue Isles for a fresh start and new opportunities.
