Rea Bold

Personality
Rea is quiet. Not because she has nothing to say, but because having your throat slit kind of hampers one's ability to make words form and be audible to others around them. That said, she's normally fairly well composed, thoughtful, but a notorious drinker. She doesn't seem to get all the way drunk, though, but at the end of the day she downs some form of alcohol. She's fairly laid back and easy to approach; though she does kill for a living, she simply treats this as a fact of her life.
Early Life
Rea doesn't go into much detail here, but she does occasionally hint at having been in the assassin business for years previously. She may have been trained to be one since she was a child, possibly as a family tradition or one of those oh so common secret societies that are popping up in recent years. She doesn't talk about her family much, only that she does her job "for them." Tastes in weaponry and combat styles lean towards Asian origins, despite her rather Western mentality at times. Perhaps her family were immigrants, or again, a secret organization working on spreading its influence into new territory.
The Scars
Another thing Rea doesn't like to talk about openly is her scars. Unfortunately, these aren't as easy to conceal. Some are obviously just from wounds she sustained in combat or training, but the ones adorning her face are far too personalized to suggest the same meaning as the others. When asked, she'd reply "Something personal." When asked what happened to the one who gave her the scars, she'd just sip on whatever drink she had at the time and shrug. Clearly she's not done yet, and plans on making the one responsible suffer as long as they can if they haven't already.
The Assassin
Yes, Rea kills people for a living. Among other questionable things. Does she kill without a reason? Not really, but what constitutes a good reason to her may not to others. Boiling it down to its core, Rea takes these contracts to put food on the table. It's the most lucrative business she knows, and she can and will overcharge for her services if she feels like it. She does have her limits, however. She doesn't kill children, or pregnant women, or exercise unnecessary cruelty in her work. So no, she doesn't slip off in the night to torture small animals and have a private display of their skulls. It's strictly business.
The odd thing being that Rea's chosen work attire has been seen around for close to a century or more now. Judging by height and relative weight, anyone who remembers that far back or stumbles across the rare photo, could tell that they were different women. This further supports the idea that Rea is from a line of assassins or a secret organization; but only women have been seen, and only one at a time. Rea currently works with the Legion of Loathing, a mercenary group based in the Rogue Isles, as scout, spy, and assassin.
Random Facts
- Rea likes to drink. No, not to get drunk. She likes the expensive stuff that tastes good. She saves drinking regular beer to get drunk for when she has a shitty day.
- Rea's swords are made of an odd material and sharp enough that they can cut through what normal swords shouldn't be able to. (Meaning the player will work out ahead of time if any armor or weapons are able to be cut or not.) They are also poor conductors of electricity, suggesting they may not be made out of metal. To this day, she refuses to comment on them or let anyone analyze them for reproduction. They do emit a faint magic about them, but again she refuses to allow any analysis.
- Ninja magic. She has it.
- Rea's scars are what primarily make it difficult to pinpoint her age, since they distort her features quite a bit. This also makes it harder to pinpoint her ethnicity, which is already difficult due to being mixed.
- The character will not take any IC assassinations unless worked out ahead of time by all parties involved OOCly. Until then, that kind of work is more or less "off screen."
