Defining Aspect

The Noble Alter Dimensional Warrior

The Life He Once Had
Rothgar Gunnarsvard, or simply Roth to most, was not born in Primal or Praetorian Earth. Instead he was born in a realm much like Earth but in a middle ages fashion that's constantly at war. He was born to one of the many nomadic barbarian tribes that roam in the colder, wilderness regions that would be Norway in his earth, and to Roth this is the nation of Meyskrit. Much of his young life was spent with the tribe whose name in common English would be Steelhelm. It wasn't until the young age of fifteen that Roth was traded over from his barbaric homeland and forced to join up with a wandering mercenary band. The rest of his years spent in "Warring Earth" (As Roth refers to it) was spent with this mercenary band fighting through most of Meyskrit and the surrounding nations. It was this period in life Roth would witness some of the most horrific acts in his entire life causing him to become desensitized to gore and bloodshed. In his last year in "Warring Earth" not long after he turned twenty-three was he banished and cursed by a mage to another realm. That realm was Primal Earth.

Character Aspects

Ambition

Making Primal His Home
Since his arrival in Primal, Roth has always had a hard time fitting in. He's had some help along the way with various people. Namely Lia Mackay, his oldest and dearest friend to him. Though he has been on Primal for many years things continue to prove difficult as he's stubborn in his ways and does thing normal Primals usually don't. He does lack a little sense of common decency and is often seen not wearing a shirt as he finds Primal clothing itchy and unbearable to wear. He doesn't much care for some things Primals like such as music, sports, movies, etc. Though he has made himself into a hero in Primal and is often seen in the Rikti War Zone and in Praetoria assulting Keyes, Lambda, and the B.A.F. Though he wishes to make Primal his home despite the time he has spent here he feels that he has failed that objective.

Background

The Life He Has Now
Since his arrival Roth has stayed in Paragon City. The first two people he met that actually left much of an impression on him were Lia and Rentis, though Rentis has since disappeared. Roth has done his best to stay at Lia's side as one of her many best friends though has had his hiccups in that plan. The first being the demon he was cursed with. It shared his body for the longest time often taking over and causing a bit of mayhem. Roth also found a way back to his realm once leaving for some time but had returned and has since stayed.
The second biggest thing to happen was his untimely 'death.' Out to stop the Circle of Thorns one day he was ambushed by them and nearly killed. Was it not for the demon that had shared his body he would have surely died. But his survival came at the cost of losing his body to the demon and having his soul kicked out of his own body. For the longest time his soul remained unconscious but after he awoke he soon found himself in Ouroboros where the Menders helped guide him into becoming and Incarnate. With a bit of the power from the Well, Rothgar was able to remain physical long enough for him to take his body back and end the soul of the demon plaguing him. Yet even with the demon dead it still remains a thorn in his side. As a failsafe the demon placed a curse on Roth's body in the event he did get it back, Roth would age rapidly until it killed him. With the help of Clara the rampant aging has been stopped.
Meanwhile Roth continues to live his life on Primal. He joined up with the Dawnfire Vanguard to meet new people and to give himself something to do other then sit around in Pocket D.

Conviction

"Just another blade for the gods."
Roth would believe that saying. While with his barbarian tribe he was taught the ways of their gods, namely their god of war. He was taught to believe that he was an instrument of war, born and bred for battle, that when War favors him the god blesses him with an unending rage and the strength to push through any pain. Roth however isn't very religious but does find a bit of truth in what he was taught do to his new-found Incarnate abilities.

It is now his belief that his only purpose in life is to fight. He feels that he has failed to fit in with the people around him and that he only reason he still exist is because his god wishes for him to keep fighting.

Disadvantages

Stubborn Ox
Being stubborn comes with being born to nomadic savages. Roth does much care to change his habits despite the voices and opinions of others. Another disadvantage would be his feelings for Lia. Though he has long since felt like he's missed his chance with her he continues to hold on to the affection he has for her and could never bring himself to harm her and is willing to throw his life away for her. But this isn't his only case of his stubbornness. Recently he has dismissed a good friend from his company without much of a good reason. Though he knows his actions were wrong he has yet to confront this person and apologize for various reasons.

Specialty Aspects

Exceptional Skill

An Extension of the Arm
Roth would say to anyone that he was born with a sword in his hand. Though proficient with many weapons, Roth prefers the sword over an axe or a mace being that a blade is usually lighter and easier to control. His sword is always accompanied by a shield giving him the perfect balance of attack and defense with both weapons. Though he's been using a sword for years Roth never stops learning better and alternative ways to use his sword and shield to better defend himself and his allies.

Foes

(To Be Updated)

Gear

"You have my sword."
Always does Roth have his sword and shield with him. Usually equipped to his back by straps that go around his chest. Though Roth has a variety of swords and shields usually it's a broadsword and shield modeled after Romulus Augustus'. He's always ready for a fight even if he's just standing around in the D.

Help

Member of the Dawnfire Vanguard
Roth has not been with the Dawnfire long but he's been with them long enough to know they'd have his back should something happen just as he would be there for any of them when they need him. Though not the most active Super Group in the world, Roth's just fine with that. He considered their base a home even if it is just a really quiet one.

Inferior Skill

The Social Grace of a Rock
Plain and simple, Roth sucks at socializing. He's quiet, broody, and being from an alternate dimension doesn't help. He knows still very little of Primal and thus can't contribute much to any conversation he does happen to find himself in. Often he finds himself just standing off to the side and listening to what others are saying though it may not seem like he's paying much attention at all.
