Sabre Kat was on of the literally hundreds of women accosted daily in Paragon City. Seeing no end to the constant violence being perpetrated, she decided to take matters into her own hands. She studied the martial arts and found that she had a natural knack for it. After mastering several styles, she started a class at a local dojo targeted specifically at women protecting themselves however they could. One fateful day she was yet again approached by a large mob of Hellions. She fought back enough to take four of them down before being slammed face first into the sidewalk. Even as she spat blood and fought her spinning head to stand up to face her attackers again, a passing hero stepped in to easily take out the remainder of the gang. She felt both grateful and ashamed at needing rescued. At that moment she decided that the only way to make a real difference was to become a 'cape' and play at their level.
