Family
Setsuka is the daughter of a mercenary known as "The Jackal"; a veteran of the Six Day War who left his country's service to pursue his own career, presumably to restore his honor. (deceased) She has never met her mother. Her father brought her up under the belief that she died in childbirth. It is unknown weather this is true.
History
Childhood
Akila was born on January 17th, 1982. Her father, a Mercenary of some renown, raised her by himself. She never recieved public schooling, instead learning from various other mercenaries. Some of whom were paid a percentage of the current contract just to keep her safe. Due to this lack of education, Akila could recognise and use different types of weapons and ammunition with a great deal of familiarity, but could not read or write untill the age of 11.
The Gulf War
During the Gulf War, The Jackal was hired under the table by Coalition forces to take down "Unknown" threats which had resulted in a spike of injuries and deaths. After 3 months of research and tracking, The Jackal found and executed a group of wealthy european businessmen, Antique dealers by trade- who had been funding and supplying anti-coalition forces. This was an important day for Akila in more ways than one. It was the first job her father brought her along for, allowing her to watch him work from the scope of a sniper rifle in a nearby building. Secondly, one of the supply documents listed a "Baron Zoria" as the curator in charge of these "Antiques".
New Dehli
Four years later, at the age of 16, Akila was developing into a battle hardened mercenary, an equal shot to any of the marksmen in her father's employ. Puberty had been particularly awkward, especially with no real female influences to speak of. Still, Akila got along well with the few steady mercs who stayed with her father, forming somewhat of a "Family". This all ended during a fateful job in New Dehli...
The first time Akila had managed to convince her father to let her take part in an operation was also the last operation he would see. The job was to attack a convoy holding some important weapons dealer new to the area. Akila was given the most important job, taking down the high-profile target. It was supposed to be clean and easy. five men (And one woman) would wait in an appropriated bus, and peg the convoy's driver, the two rear guards, and the main target before evacuating. The Jackal would be Akila's second, ensuring the kill.
Everything started accoarding to plan. One shot and the truck's driver was down. Two more got the guards almost simultaniously, before the other cars had even stopped. Akila shot true, hitting her target through the left eye as he tried to look for a way out. The mercenary group was about to make thier escape, when a patch of tar erupted under the bus. Shadows began flitting through the vehicle, and most of the men were stunned by the display. The Jackal, putting his daughter's safety foremost, tackled her before a wave of bullets from the convoy saturated the bus.
Shielded by her father's body, Akila was the only survivor.
Revenge
For the next 6 months, Akila tracked down the men from the convoy, eliminating each only after discovering the location of the next. Her methods of torture were sloppy, but effective. From one of the other drivers, she learned the reason her attack failed. The origional target had been a mystic in some group called the "Circle of Thorns", and in posession of the Phylactery of Nim'Zul- an artifact that bestowed dark powers upon it's owner.
Akila agreed to let the driver live in exchange for information on how to combat this magi. One of the first things he told her was "Change your name".
Taking his advice, Akila spent a week trying out new names, deciding on Setsuka for the refference to the egyptian god of the underworld as well as the asian quality.
Setsuka spent 3 more weeks trailing the mage, untill she found the location of the Phylactery. Evan after learning the item's powers and location, she waited untill a duplicate could be made before stealing the origional. When she finally took her revenge on the mage, he was caught powerless, and completely by suprise.
Setsuka spent half a day torturing the man before he died of shock. Afterward, disgusted with herself, she vowed never to torture again.
