History

Beginning

The minute Kyo was born his powers started going out of control. At first it was only a little electricity but it quickly started to increase. Doctors who specialized in mutants quickly put him in a room which fed electricity into Kyo. They informed his parents that if Kyo kept emitting electricity he would not survive. The doctors decided to put him in a rubber suit, to keep the electricity from escaping. Kyo's parent's weren't sure what to do. They did not want there son to have to be stuck in that rubber suit but they could not help him to learn to control his abilities since he was only a baby.

When Kyo was three, he was still in the suit. His father started looking for someone who might know how to start teaching Kyo to control his abilities. He finally found someone, a man by the name of Raiga. Raiga was a mutant as well who's powers were similar to Kyo's. He agreed to teach Kyo how to control his abilities but to do so he requested to take Kyo away from the city and everyone around him. Kyo's parents agreed with the request to visit there son every three months. Raiga agreed but under the condition that they did not start their visits till Kyo did not need the suit anymore and could keep his lightning under control.

Training years

Raiga took the boy to a small fishing village in the Ryukyu islands of Japan. It was there he would teach the boy everything he could. Since he was only three years old he decided to wait until Kyo was at least five. For the next two years Raiga taught Kyo basic things like words and numbers.

Finally when he was five Raiga took the suit off and destroyed it, so Kyo had no choice but to start controlling his powers. Kyo's electricity quickly drained, like a dam thats wall finally broke. Raiga just stood there telling Kyo to put a lid on his lightning or he would die. For two days Kyo tried as hard as he could to keep the lightning inside of him. He barely held on to life until it finally started to slow down and eventually stopped.

Since Kyo had finally gotten it under control Raiga called up Kyo's parents and told them they could come visit. Kyo's parents were happy and scheduled a flight to Japan. Away left right away but tragedy struck soon after. Kyo's parents were killed in a car accident on there way to the airport. Raiga got word of this and told Kyo. He also said that he would stick to what his parents requested and continue to teach Kyo how to fully use his abilities.

Raiga realized that Kyo would also need to be educated, but there were no schools around. Raiga was a school teacher so he decided to teach Kyo himself. Every week he would give Kyo work with a certain amount of it to do each day. To make sure Kyo would do the work, Raiga told him that until he did the work each day he would not practice martial arts or work on controlling lightning. Kyo enjoyed learning both so he did the work he had to each day. Kyo soon realized that if he did more of the work quicker he would have more time to train. So instead of doing one days worth of work in five hours he pushed to do two days of work in seven hours. Raiga noticed this and started slowly adding more work each week.

By the time Kyo was ten years old he had complete control over his lightning powers, he was starting to get better in martial arts and he had finished learning everything up to a high school level. And even though English was the primary language the student and teacher used, Kyo could speak Japanese like it was all he knew. By now he was doing a weeks worth of work in a day and the other six days he would spend training from morning till sunset. Raiga noticed this but also realized that Kyo had no real contact with the outside world. He decided that it was time Kyo learned what he would one day have to go back to. So Raiga took Kyo to Tokyo. He taught Kyo about modern style and how to blend in. For two years Kyo's training and learning was put on hold so he could learn about the outside world beyond the small village he grew up in.

One day Raiga got a call. Mizuki, Kyo's older brother who was told about Kyo had called and told Raiga that he would like to become Kyo's guardian since he was 18 years old now. Mizuki up until now had no idea he had a brother nor did he know Kyo was a mutant. He had simply heard that Kyo was left in the care of Raiga cause of their parents death. Mizuki was living with his mother's brother at the time so he could attend a prestigious boarding school. He was only told about his brother when he turned 18. Raiga didn't tell him about Kyo's powers and requested one more year before letting him go live with Mizuki. He agreed and said he would come get Kyo on his 13th birthday. Raiga used the one year he had to complete Kyo's martial arts training. He told Kyo that it would be a good idea not to tell his brother about his power's. And since Kyo's hair was naturally blue as part of his mutant DNA, Raiga dyed it for Kyo just before Mizuki was suppose to come.

Paragon City

Mizuki showed up in Tokyo and met Raiga and Kyo. He told Kyo that he would look after him for now on and they left for Paragon City, where Mizuki lived. Mizuki was 19 years old and still in school but he had a middle management job in the company their father use to be one of the owners in. Plus they had their inheritance to live off of. Mizuki lived in their parents penthouse apartment in Steel Canyon. He hated living in Paragon City due to all the danger but since it was close to his work and where their parents lived he stayed there. He enrolled Kyo into High School once the fall came. Even though Kyo was a year younger then everyone else he was well on the high school level of education.

Shinryu

Up until a few months ago Kyo didn't mind hiding his true self. But he started to realize that his power's were going to waste. If this kept up he would only get weaker. He wanted to become a hero but he couldn't tell his brother. He decided to become a masked hero. He thought that if he used his natural blue hair and wore a mask it would be fine. And since his brother wasn't home 90% of the time anyway he would just temporarily dye his hair for school everyday. It was annoying to him but he dealt with it.

Kyo choice the name Shinryu because Raiga called him the shindou no rai(prodigy of lightning)and ryu cause it means dragon. But Shindou Ryu didn't sound good to Kyo so he shortened it to Shinryu. Not realizing that Shin can mean soul or spirit, so now whenever Raiga sees Kyo he makes fun of him and calls him chibi Shin (runt spirit). Kyo tries to keep his hero life separate from his "normal" life. Which proves to be a difficult task. The only two people who know Shin's real name are Raiga and his girlfriend, Laurie.

Kyo Arashi

Kyo attended a private high school located outside of Paragon city. Even though the commute meant an hour an half everyday. He graduated and will attend Paragon University as a normal student, despite his brother's wishes for him to attend Stanford. The reason Kyo decided to stay was cause he did not want to leave Laurie and have a long-distance relationship. But since Laurie is the hero Winter Flux, he could not tell him that was the reason and just simply said he did not want to leave his brother.

Personality

Kyo is generally laid back. He can be clueless about somethings and tries to avoid meaningless fighting. He can be quiet geeky at times. He loves to watch anime and play video games. He enjoys playing Go and chess. But when in a serious situation, Kyo can become like a different person. Raiga compares it to a sleeping dragon, peaceful while it's asleep but once the dragon is awake even the skies will tremble.

Fighting Style

Shinryu uses typical lightning blast to deal with weak opponents. but he also likes to combined his lightning powers with his martial arts. Thus Raiga taught him a style of fighting known as Raijutsu. which utilizes lightning into physical attacks. The key to Raijutsu is three attacks

Ryou Hirate(Charged Palm)

This is a simple attack in which lightning is focused into the fist. A strong punch is required to deliver the lightning to make the attack successful. Even though it is a punch attack it was given the name palm because the other two attacks make this one seem like being hit with in open palm.

Raikou Sentou(Lightning Fist)

A much stronger version of the Ryou Hirate. More then double the amount of lightning must be focused into the fist. Unlike the Ryou Hirate, this attack can cause damage to the user's arm if used without without complete focus.

Hikireki Seiryoku(Thunder Force)

The last of the three attacks. This attack is different from Raikou Sentou in that both arms must be charged with a significant amount of lightning each. It depends more on the lightning itself rather then the physical strength. The attack strikes the enemy with both fist at the same time this would normally be weaker then hitting a person with one fist cause there is little weight in this method. The force from this attack is so strong that it not only throws the enemy a distance away, but it also knocks anyone who was close to him off there feet, hence the name. The key is in the lightning that is built up in the fist and the foot work the user does before he attacks. This technique must used precisely or else it can cause tremendous damage to the user, possibly even destroying the muscles in his arms.
