(( MRP/No-ERP ))

Real Name: Alcandar of the Alopex
Age: Immortal
Occupation: M.A.G.I. Civil Servant

Alcandar of the Alopex is a magical creature from another dimension, trapped in our own world by some unknown means. When arriving on Primal Earth, he found himself in the nation of Japan. There, he adopted his current name (Shirogitsune, aka White Fox) and traded in his own weapons for the more perfect twin katana. After the Rikti War, he traveled to Paragon City with WISDOM and was soon drafted into MAGI. He now works for the greater good while also seeking a path back home.

Note: + He is unaware of his misspelt name. "Shirogitsune" was taken in the hero registry, but Alcandar insisted on using the handle. The civil servant in charge of processing him simply changed one letter.

Life... or something like it

Life on Thirio

Thirio, in brief, is a planet where humanity was wiped out long ago by the denizens of the underworld. These demons began to rule the overworld until certain sects found a way to evolve or ascend, creating a new breed of pseudo-humans. This breed retook the world from the lesser demons and after the war was over, divided into tribes where their evolution continued. The tribe that Alcandar belongs to is the Alopex, a race that resembles man-fox hybrids. This tribe is heavily magic reliant, in a way that their entire society is based around it. Your magical aptitude determines your self worth. Alcandar was born as a set of twins, common among the Alopex. He was sheer white, his brother Pancras was pitch black. Opposites at birth, it would continue in much the same way for the rest of their lives.

Alcandar was born without magic while Pancras was a prodigy. As such, Pancras received the best education and was placed into a government office after his schooling, while Alcandar was drafted into the military shortly after only completing the basics of what he would ever need. In the military, he learned the art of twin blade fighting and excelled greatly. If his magical aptitude was non-existent, his physical strength was legendary. He soon became somewhat of a war hero among lower society, secretly whispered about. It wasn't long before the Alopex Elders learned of his emerging "threat" to their magic based hierarchy system and forged crimes to charge him with. Brought before the council of Elders, Alcandar was judged by his own brother, Pancras. Deemed a traitor to Thirio and the Alopex, he was sentenced to walk into a rift linked to the underworld... guaranteeing his death. As Alcandar walked his final steps into what he thought was the end, the rift rippled slightly.

Life in Japan?

Yes, Japan. Alcandar can only assume Pancras changed the rift at the last second, sending him into another universe instead of the Netherworld. It was slight and subtle, barely noticeable by Alcandar himself. It was a way to save his brother while still preserving the status quo. Regardless of the reasons, Alcandar found himself in a foreign new land full of strange new people. He can only assume now that it was in the 1800's when he appeared in our world. As he descended into the woods, he noticed most people kept calling him the same name. Shirogitsune. After a time, he simply began using it as his new name, having no idea it meant "White Fox" till much later. The people he met either treated him as a god or ran in fear, but he soon found a community willing to accept his oddness. A skillful fighter, Shirogitsune protected the community from bandits and nefarious types while slowly learning the ways of his new life. In time, he found he much preferred the weapons of these people over his own and adapted his fighting style to suit them.

Life with WISDOM

An immortal, Shirogitsune far outlived the community that had adopted him. As Japan moved from more of an ancient culture to modern times, Shiro found his place began to fade fast. As with most magical creatures, he fled to the mountains and simply existed as a hermit for many years. It wasn't until he rescued a young woman from an attacking Tengu that he was reintroduced to a society that accepted him. The woman was a Shinto Priestess. She was working for WISDOM.

It didn't take much convincing for Shiro to join WISDOM, an organization of like minded magical heroes hailing from Asia. He was readily accepted into their ranks, his prowess with swords far surpassing anyone else in the organization. While he acted as the muscle for the group, standing on the front lines in the war against dark magic, his nature of being a magical creature began to show. In short bursts and fits, fire began exploding forth from Shirogitsune's body. Other WISDOM members wondered if the magic suppressed inside his body on his world was allowed to flow freely on ours and that perhaps being around other magic users and creatures encouraged the power to show itself. As such, Shirogitsune began training with WISDOM on how to control this fiery new power, something he began to call "Fox Fire."

This was Shirogitsune's life for many years. Warrior for WISDOM, student of magic and eternal observer to human history from the shadows. This life ended quickly when the Rikti invaded Earth for the first time. As with many heroes around the world, Shirogitsune fought valiantly against the alien threat. From Seoul to Hong Kong, Beijing to Tokyo, Shirogitsune and WISDOM fought off the alien threat. Damage was minimal for these magically proficient heroes, but soon came news of the devastation to Paragon City.

Life with MAGI

WISDOM dispatched a cadre of heroes, magicians and other forces of good to help aid Paragon City recover from the Rikti War. Shirogitsune was part of this relief effort, albeit a minor name compared to the likes of Foreshadow and Mirror Spirit. Tension between Foreshadow and himself led Shirogitsune to leave WISDOM not long after arriving in Paragon City and he found himself looking for employment. MAGI fit the bill perfectly, offering the same sort of background as WISDOM. As part of MAGI, Shiro further trained in utilizing his Fox Fire for the greater good as well as putting down all sorts of things that went bump in the night.

On one such mission, Shirogetsune found himself paired with Terra Aureus, a hero representing the newly formed Ares Syndicate. While MAGI was a fine organization, it lacked the "fighting spirit" he was disciplined with on Thirion and in Japan. The Ares Syndicate promised daily martial training, the ability to pass on his swordplay techniques to others and at times... all out no holds barred war against evil. With out as much of a second thought, he turned in his resignation to MAGI and took up a position within the Ares Syndicate.

The Ares Syndicate Life

At the Ares Syndicate, Shirogetsune teaches the art of using two blades at once, offensive and defensively. Since his Fox Fire technique is innate and can not be passed down, he instead seeks the aid of others to help further master using this ability.

Personality

Shiro is a hero due to circumstances alone, more a warrior than an "avatar of justice." His past life on Thirion fighting against the lesser demon hordes has given him a firm grasp on the concepts of good and evil, although sometimes he confuses those with order and chaos. His fighting techniques are efficient and highly disciplined, coming from years of training and experience. As such, he uses these impressive talent to preserve human society from those that would do it harm, but has been known to stand obstinately in the way of social injustice.

In conversation, Shiro speaks quickly and very charismatically. He is readily liked and accepted by most, although some sense a vague feeling of mischievousness about him. While possessing a peaceful air about him along with boasting strength most feel like they could always depend on, rows of sharp pointy teeth and animalistic eyes might scare more wary individuals. In combat, that strength and animal fury are shown in full force. He is always at the forefront, will do almost anything to help those less sturdy heroes in trouble and slashes at foes with precise but furious strikes. In personal conflict, he often reverts to his softer side, rarely antagonizing or instigating the situation further. His arguments are always sound and thought out, but might require some time to reflect on those decisions before voicing his opinion. As such, some might see him as indecisive.

Powers and Abilities

Shirogetsune's powers are drawn from primarily two attributes. His skill with twin swords and an innate ability called Fox Fire. Sword fighting, and especially the Alopex style of two sword fighting, was mandatory amongst the Alopex military. Shiro later adopted the katana as his primary sword of choice over his Thirio longblades. As such, he had to adapt to the katana's quirks but is still a master swordsman.

Fox Fire is an ability that was suppressed on Thirio for Shiro, but now flourishes after his time spent with WISDOM and MAGI. It is a flame created from Shiro's soul, burning incoming attackers or healing his injuries. Using this ability quickly exhausts Shiro, but he is learning to endure it's toll.

While immortal, Shirogetsune is far from indestructible. If he happens to fall in combat, Shirogetsune can reincarnate his corporeal form once his astral body has gathered enough fox fire energy from the surrounding environment. Those that can see his astral form would see it as a very large white fox, not a man-fox hybrid, ablaze with fox fire energy. This technique can be used even if his coporeal body no longer exists... it just takes longer to reincarnate. While there are ways to keep him from gathering fox fire energy, no one has ever been pressed hard enough to find a way to permanently remove Shirogetsune.

Author Notes

My first "furry." He's a furious Furry.

I've been using the handle Shirogetsune for awhile now, but never letting it stick long on a toon. The Mutant Booster soon changed that, as well as several anime shows featuring fox fire as a spirit fox cliche. As such, a DB/Fire Scrapper was born!

This version has more or less created for the Ares Syndicate.
