Roxanne Operetta began her life in another town, with another name. Chicago is her place of place of birth and it's where she grew up as well. She dropped out of highschool at fourteen to pursue college as a dance prodigy.

As the eldest daughter of a rising politician it was difficult for her to avoid the scrutiny of the press, but her parents shielded her well and she was never very bothered by it.

During her first year of college, at age 15, her life took a dramatic term. The announcement that her father would be running for Illinois state senator brought the whole family back into the spotlight. Of course, this wouldn't have bothered her if not for the other changes.

They began slowly at first, little bumps on her forehead as her horns grew in, her toes thickened and started to grow together, a nub began to extend from the base of her spine. Thanks to regularly watching the news she was no stranger to the concept of mutant humans, nor was she a stranger to how poorly the majority of the populace viewed them. If the truth of her condition hit the airwaves, her father's run for senator would be all but doomed.

With very little time to plan, as it was becoming harder and harder to hide the transformation of her body, she decided on a rash course of action, to fake her own death. Using her parents assets she secured a birth certificate and social security number for a new life, and then put her plan into action. In broad view of the public, she was attacked by armed criminals, slashed across the face with a knife, and pushed over a bridge into the Chicago river. Her body was never recovered, and the criminals escaped capture and were never sighted again.

Everyone was fooled, the press, the school, even her family believed her dead and gone. The plan wasn't a complete success because the cut on her face wasn't a part of it, and it cost her the use of her right eye. She was forced to take treatment from a "doctor" who was unqualified and unquestioning, and the wound left a scar that persists to this day.

The old life behind her, she took her falsified birth certificate and social security to Paragon City Hall and applied for a change of her name, to Roxanne Operetta, and re-enrolled in college. Since her feet had transformed into hooves dance was no longer an option, and she turned to music and music education. Almost immediately she fell passionately in love with her new direction in life, and she excelled in her studies like she never had before. In one short year she finished a BFA in musical performance with minors in voice, composition, and education.

Now she's taken a student teaching position at Next-Gen while working on her master's thesis.

Personality and Theme Song

Roxy has really unwound since she found her love of music. She's grown into a boisterous, sensual, and compassionate person with a very artistic mind. Often she's as attentive to the natural rhythms and aesthetics of a place or person as she is to the more obvious physical or mental characteristics. Silence is a poison to her, so she carries her iPod everywhere she goes and often has her headphones looped around her neck and blaring loud enough for everyone around her to enjoy. She tends to listen to hard rock and heavy metal more than anything else.

Warmth and compassion also go hand in hand with thoughts of Roxy, as she loves to mother people and is always willing to take time out to give someone her attention.

Roxy's theme song is by Avenged Sevenfold, and is titled "I Won't See You Tonight, Part 1" It can be found on youtube: Avenged Sevenfold on youtube
