Personality
Kylara Tristram is fairly levelheaded, showing an unusual degree of maturity for her relative age. She stands with impeccable posture, speaks in a smooth, resonant alto, and wears an air of confidence wherever she goes. Her training in concert etiquette and performance are definitely apparent. However, as many people will say, still waters DO run deep...
Character History
Backstory
Kylara lived in Baumton until the area was leveled... after that her family moved to Mercy where her uncle lived, having no place else to go. Life was harsh on the Isles, but Kylara managed to make do. She made few friends, but when things got rough, she would go on long walks around Mercy, singing out her frustration at high volume. Her voice and her musical ability benefitted from this practice, and she became a fairly accomplished singer, albeit lacking any notoriety for it. The Isles are not exactly the center of the cultural arts...
Past Events
Kylara adjusted to living in Mercy, to some extent, though she didnt get along with her uncle much better than the rest of her family. Unlike them, though, she was mouthy enough to talk back from time to time. After a rather unpleasant altercation with the Longbow and Arachnos landed her brother in a Paragon prison, Kylara's parents finally pulled the necessary strings to get her transferred to a high-school in Talos for her senior year, on a vocal music scholarhip. They figured it would be a good chance to get her away from Mercy for a while so her uncle and the family could "relocate after the bad press". After graduation, she returned to Mercy again, having had a hard time fitting in with the preppy Talos crowd.
Current Story
Kylara hs just recently made the acquaintance of a handful of punks not far from her own age, one of them even an honor student at her former high school. Though the drama and the arguing tend to grate after a while, she has to admit that they are fairy amiable company... most of the time.
Kylara has also discovered Pocket D, and a strange woman named Lazuli who claims to know and work with her brother Morgan. She was unaware that her brother had been broken out of the Zig, or that Tracy had been killed in the firefight that led to her brother's arrest. Worried for his well-being, Kylara awaits word from him, and has struck up a tentative trust with this Lazuli, hoping that the woman has been able to be some sort of sounding board for her brother's badly damaged mind.
Powers
Songshatter has learned that with a word, a shout, or a few idle notes, she can use the combination of her compelling voice and her powerful mental abilities to create a siren-like effect, which can be anything from draining to empowering to downright damaging to anybody within earshot.
Vulnerabilities
As a latent psychic sensitive, Kylara's abilities are just developing. She doesn't yet understand many of the signals she picks up. She also is still very much prey to the need for a focus... as such, many of her abilities depend on her being free to use her voice to help focus her mental powers.
Rogue Gallery
Nobody specific yet... but neither a fan of Longbow nor Arachnos... nor anybody who stirs up the anthill that is the Rogue Isles.

This was my contribution to my usual group's idea to create younger villain siblings of their various heroes. As Taran has no siblings, I decided to create Kylara... which has since proven interesting.
