What makes someone a superhero? Is it the powers? Is it the determination? Is it the ability to transcend the laws of regular men and apply your own superior morality? Is this the formula for a hero, or a villain?

History

Jacob calls himself Stellular now. He looks out over the city, and all he sees is waste--the squandered potential of both the average man and the heroic element alike. It saddens him. It sickens him...

The Accident

In the year 2011, a spectacular explosion ripped through the skeletal framework of the unfinished Nebula 1 space station, the would-be ultimate celestial research station of then-profitable Cosmic Corporation. Among the workers caught in the explosion, which was later deemed to be the result of an unexplained phenomena corresponding with unusual solar flare activity, the only one to survive was Second Class Astronaut Engineering Specialist Jacob Jones.

An emergency evacuation pod brought the injured spaceman to a NASA flight base before he was transported to a Cosmic Corp medical treatment facility. There it was determined that his survival was not merely miraculous, but the result of being imbued with hitherto unseen super powers. This radical metabolic transformation preserved his body until the life-sustaining atmosphere of Earth began an accelerated healing process over a matter of months. An unfortunate side-effect of both the initial blast and bodily regrowth was a total remapping of his brain's neural processes, resulting in an irreversible long-term amnesia of his former life.

The Aftermath

While Jacob Jones convalesced, the destroyed space station and surrounding issues meant Cosmic Corp faced an inescapable bankruptcy. In order to help recoup their losses, a new business model was formed with Jones at the center. While valuable research information gathered from studying him was exported for profit, a Cosmic Corp facility was refurbished into a specialized training center in which Jones could learn to control and master his newfound powers. Thus, by tapping into the superhero industry, the company rebranded their devastating astral failure into a new corporate mascot and moneymaking gimmick.

Partnering with other businesses, including Crey Biotech, Cosmic Corp soon unveiled Jacob Jones' new persona, named Stellular. With the help of state-of-the-art technology and highly qualified specialists, Stellular was retaught and conditioned into the perfect superhero mold while a rigorous training program yielded excellent results. Outfitted with proper attire, including custom synthetics designed to withstand the use of his powers, Stellular's appearance was carefully crafted for optimized marketability. Finally, Stellular was released into the public during a probationary period where he made several appearances at scheduled events.

The time eventually came, however, when Cosmic Corp could no longer keep Stellular at bay, and so Jacob Jones was released to begin his new life as a superhero.

The Ascension

Retaining an allocated allowance of funds from Cosmic Corp as part of his severance and settlement from the accident, Jones moved to Paragon City. This choice in location was not entirely random, as its superhero-friendly community was also suggested by Cosmic Corp, and a greater amount of financial and technical support would be available to him if he remained in its city limits. Thus, the big city penthouse in which he lives is registered under the name "Stellular."

Jones has since worked out of Paragon City, doing what he can to help stem the tide of corruption and crime.

Physical Attributes

Jacob Jones was given tremendous power. He was given a costume and told to go out and make a difference in the world. They told him he was a superhero. In Paragon City, it seems the role of a superhero is to fight a never-ending battle against the forces of greed, crime, and corruption...

Strength Level

Stellular possesses superhuman strength that enables him to lift (press) approximately 85 tons.

Superpowers

Stellular's body either produces or has become a conduit to a previously unknown energy source dubbed "Starpower." This energy sustains all of his life processes, negating the need for such things as food, oxygen, and rest. Furthermore, it enhances his abilities to superhuman levels so, when properly channeled, he is capable of doing extraordinary things.

Trivia

To only fight the evil is not enough. To be a true superhero you must be prepared to transform society. This is the role to which Stellular now conforms, his cause, and his destiny...
